Yet again, with a very good camera & lens in hand, the skill of the tog is the over-riding factor in the quality of the final product.

Thanks for posting the pics. They do indeed look identical in ISO quality, which corroborates with the DXO sensor tests published

Always format a card in the camera it is going to be used in.
The only time I have ever had corrupt images is when I didn't.
It takes less than 30 secs to reformat a card when you put it back in the camera, why on earth anyone would not do it and take the risk is beyond me.

When I first bought the iPad I thought I'd be doing lots of editing and so bought Snapseed etc. played with them and have never used them since. Maybe a pro-tog might see some use but for the rest of us is it really that urgent ?
Of course you have adapters for the iPad if you want to load from an SD card or connect a USB device. Bought them - almost never use them.
Giofi had it right, if you want to edit maybe a MacAir or the PC equivalents is best.

In the K-5 menu you need to make sure the 'Auto Rotation' menu item is un-ticked rather than ticked. If it is set this way the images will rotate correctly.

2) It is still there :-
a) display a photo
b) press the 'flash' button on the 4 way controller
c) move to the icon on the left of bottom line of the icons displayed
d) compare as per the K7
It's best to download and read the K5IIs manual from cover to cover (and repeat every now and again) it's the first thing I do with every new camera !

Since adding the D800 to the K5 I've noticed these advantages :
Low DoF without the expense of very fast lenses
Superb resolution enables incredible cropping with the Sigma 500 shooting birds and simply stunning with the Zeiss ZF 2 lenses (35 & 21).
Very wide FoV without as much distortion.
Lower noise at higher ISO settings.
Media photos can be submitted to a wider audience as some outlets, ridiculously, will only accept Canon/Nikon.
Wider range of lenses (enabled me to buy the Sigma 500 which I looked for here for over a year without success, when buying the Nikon I bought it the same day)which the camera can extract the best from.
There is still easily enough room for both systems in my bag The K5 series offers other advantages - it just depends on exactly what, and where, you are shooting.
