As has been mentioned if you need the zoom range then the 60-250 is a superb lens. Otherwise the DA*300 is even better.

This unequivocally proves it: DPR has slightly more Oly fanboys than it has Nikon fanboys than it has Canon fanboys.
Damian McGillicuddy (who changed systems and now shoots with the OM-D) ........ a professional photographer decorated five times as the best in the UK :
"Olympus sent me an OM-D even though I had no intention of changing kit. But I opened the parcel and it had some nice shiny thing in it, so I got magpie syndrome and took it out."
"I didn't actually want it to work when I first saw it, 'cos it sort of dismantled my professional beliefs. But then I started using it and thought, 'It is rather good isn't it?' and, almost begrudgingly, it won me over".

An interesting debate (having just read through it all). However for some the reason to upgrade to a K5II(s) isn't much to do with any perceived increase in IQ under identical conditions and more to resolve specific issues (AF and low light). To some (e.g. birders) any improved AF alone would be worth the difference in price between the K5 and K5II(s).

..... alternatively there is a range of bags called "Courser" - CamerWorld have then on their web site.
Another well known Chinese brand that make bags similar to those from Domke and Billingham, plus a lot more (at very low prices) !

What do Chinese bags look like please?
Like all the bags from those name brands above ! They can copy anything - and usually add useful bits and pieces, they are quite inventive and of course most camera bags are made in China anyway (LowePro etc.) ! Check EBay for :
Fancier, Benro, Winer & Jenova which are the most well known (most have their own websites - Google them and check them out) though all are low cost, and usually well made, options.

I have a huge bag from Aerfeis that I use on working sports assignments, zips apart (which are not the highest quality but have never broken) it is as good (or more thoughtfully designed) than many of the top brands - and it cost me US$50 compared to the similar bags from Tamrac, Vanguard etc. costing US$250-300 (so if the zips break after a couple of years just buy a new one and count the $$$ you;ve still saved) !

Nest is a high quality, high class HK brand that makes excellent camera bags, tripods, gimbals etc. and isn't well known outside certain countries in Asia.

Tamrac have the worst clasps in the business BTW - I have a Tamrac bag I love but won't use because of the clasp hassle, don't look when you are inserting the clasp and possibly one of the prongs will slip down the side of the clasp and lodge there - and it's a sod to get them out again, incredibly stupid design.

Any one on the look out for a camera to nick, and knows his gear, is going to spot a LowePro / Nat Geo / Billingham / Kawa / Tamrac / Vanguard etc. from a mile away.

One of the Chinese bags could throw them, and they are generally really good. Otherwise if totally paranoid then go for a normal backback from the market and buy and cut the foam to fit your gear and the bag.

However do note that BBA (bag buying addiction) is one of the most well known forms of addiction amongst togs (CBA, LBA, GBA and BBA being the main forms of the illness).

But for general hobby photography the original question remains, which forgive me if I've missed it, has not being answered yet?

... How will a FF camera improve the standard of your photography over what you can get from a K-5 or K30?
I answered Smeggy but you probably missed it

Obviously on a Pentax forum people will submit reasons why a FF is not for them / why FF has no advantage over APSC (which is rather narrow minded)
I don't think people are being narrow minded. I think it's simply that if they did see a need for a FF frame camera they would not be on a Pentax forum. All it means is that a decision has been made, and they are here.
You couldn't be more wrong John and I've seen you trying to sell this line before. It's certainly not that black & white by a long chalk.

People buy a camera for many reasons and most that buy APS-C maybe don't imagine (or look that far down the road) or see the need at the time of purchase, for a FF camera.

The many that then decide a FF is for them don't suddenly stop using their APS-C or frequenting forums that they have enjoyed for years (at least that is my experience on PF and other forums where many have dual systems or continue to retain a soft spot for Pentax even if they have moved on.
