It appears stealth like, as it peers at one, its form way ahead of its time.
Had the pleasure of passing Heathrow airport on a double decker bus (top deck) in 1986 summertime on my way to near Windsor.
The Concorde was landing with its nose titled downwards.
The bus was travelling adjacent, parallel as it were and in the same direction and what felt like the same speed.
Synchronised it was, jaw droopingly beautiful. Silence all round in this travelling bus
It was as if one could almost touch it, yes thats how close
An experience I will never forget as it landed effortlessly
Everyone aboard were in awe of this wonderful sight, truly it was special.
Great set of recent Photos Pschlute, enjoying them thoroughly

Focal length , probably 35mm IMHO, I forgot too add that as well to my specs, for Ricoh and Pentax to get there skates on.
You can do it Ricoh with the last of the Asahi retirees.

I have invested even in the film days mid 80s, so I won't be leaving Pentax anytime soon and having the privilege of owning a K1ii, till death does us part or which ever comes first.
K70 as well and still building up my many lenses. I love the fact that I stuck with Pentax, It cost me nothing when i got just camera bodies as I was already up and running with the older lenses.

My honest opinion, the Pentax 17 would not interest me, a new Q digital system would not interest me also.
A new GR would not interest me either.

What I would dearly love is a new digital range finder type Pentax camera, similar to Leica M1, pocketable, discreet and fully manual with killer raw optics that are out of this world. Manual focus but Auto as well

No LCD back screen, just simple stuff and the lens just to be fixed, so no projecting movements and silent of course.
It would be something that my old eyes would appreciate, as in not trying to look at an lcd screen or through an EVF
Just an old fashioned view.

I would pay for that if Pentax Ricoh could pull something special out of the hat
Edit, Full frame sensor is a must as well.
That's what I would love, all for 50 quid

Sounds like its the K1 for you and its significantly cheaper used and the raw files will be full to the brim.
Anything half decent will still be just under a grand.
Happy hunting, Flan

The baked in noise reduction does not affect base iso, it kicks in at 340 or 400iso or iso if memory serves. I am sure this is on a gradual scale as one goes up with iso.
I think it annoyed purists more so, but both K1 and K1ii are night beasts as far as light gathering capabilities and image quality is concerned, probably the best out-there.
K1ii myself but I don't do astro
