This is a very nice lens in excellent condition. As an introduction to the world of cheap manual Pentax lenses I think this is one of the best. I think it is a very good choice for landscapes. This is the superior f3.5 version. There are couple of small marks on the edge of the filter ring but everything else is cosmetically very handsome. Optically clean and mechanically as it should be. £40 plus post at cost.

I like this lens but my cupboard needs space and I have the (rather more expensive) K series 28mm f3.5 so I'd like to find it a new home where it can be put to better use.

The manual pancake lens, a good walkaround for the understated photographer. The lens is in good condition. There's a bit of brassing on the front rim of the aperture ring, not too much and it is otherwise cosmetically fine. I would say there are faint traces of oil on the blades and I've tried to show these in the images. But it's nothing to worry about as the aperture is good and snappy and everything works as it should. The optics are clean and the focus smooth. £40 plus post at cost.

It depends what you mean by better. I have tried to explain how the different lenses have their advantages. For a night cityscape I would go for the DA15. For general landscape I would prefer the 12-24.

There are other considerations, CA, build quality. Don't forget the successor to the 12-24 is not far away if you are considering a purchase from new.

A copipod, useful for photographing documents, stamps, that kind of thing directly from above keeping the sensor plane parallel to the object. The filter ring attaches to a 49mm lens thread. The legs are extendable from 34-54cm.

This is a nice item with case, all in excellent condition.

The lens is for illustrative purposes only. Looking for £32 + postage which will be charged at cost.

So if I head off to deepest Mongolia for a month and a bit I come back to find PS switched off?

Neither do I TBH. But there are many simple ways of achieving soft dreamy results. A bit of tissue paper, a smear of vaseline, or just a wide open Tak:

It's difficult to use and the image quality is terrible. I think I'm missing the point.

The 12-24 is a very fine all round landscape lens.

The physical advantages of the DA15 are its compactness and built-in hood (which could equally be regarded as a disadvantage if you wish to attach filters, although a spacer will solve the problem). In terms of image quality the DA15 is a marvel for flare resistance and for producing starbursts.

So for lightweight travel, walkaround, shooting into the Sun or for night photography then it would be my weapon of choice.

If I'm going out for a particular landscape shoot with tripod and filters then the 12-24 would be my choice for better all round sharpness.

I don't know about the DA21.

A very interesting alternative now is the Ricoh GR with a fixed 18mm lens. The quality looks good enough for serious landscape photography and you have the advantage of mounting it on something like a gorillapod so that you can use it in places where a DSLR set up would be awkward or prohibited. It is also ideal for candids. And it is a genuine go everywhere so you need never miss a shot. Very interesting indeed.

If you still need to download and install it I don't understand what the difference is. The program files will be equally replicable so how would it reduce piracy? What have I missed?

I'd ask a penny for them. Not sure how much the listing would cost if they don't sell.
