I agree with John, equipment is there to be used. I don't really worry about using lenses in the rain, even if they aren't WR

This will then be considered by a panel of PhotoStasi representatives who will decide the appropriate sized sensor for their future imaging activities. Any sensors deemed too large in comparison with the type and quality of the images presented shall be confiscated. In extreme cases they will be permitted retention only of a pad of paper and a pencil until they prove themselves re-educated to the forum standard. They should ensure that they use and mention only official Pentax Papyrus & Graphite Products.

I'm not going to trawl the thread to check if anyone has asked the question already, but here goes:
What would getting FF give you that a K-3 won't?
36x24 wasn't considered Full Frame until Oscar Barnack came along and when APS (film) came along in the 1990s the manufacturers boasted that the technology boost more than made up for the size shortfall, until the technology moved to 35mm....
Why not go full hog and get a 645D or H4D?
I have a Nikon D3 plus a selection of very good Nikkors, the D3 wasn't cheap and getting the right lenses wasn't cheap either. There are areas where it excels compared to Pentax - its ability to capture fast moving subjects. It does, however, lack ONE major feature - MOJO. I prefer to pick up the Pentax - but if it's Sport of Aircraft/cars I take the D3.
Now, if you haven't been dissuaded - avoid the D600,
2) I wouldn't get a 645D because it is very expensive and my existing lenses wouldn't be much good. The A7R sensor performs almost as well and takes existing lenses. A similarly spec in K mount would be preferable to a K3 for me. A ff 36mp sensor in a K3 body would be worth saving for. The only advantage the APSC K3 would have is price.
So far I have been very impressed with how, inter alia, the FALtds look on a full frame sensor. I haven't yet reached a firm conclusion since I would need to be convinced on edge sharpness - we often hear how film lenses won't perform well on ff because of the way light falls at the edges, etc. But my initial impression is there seems to be a look which I really like that I haven't yet seen with the K3.

Surely the level of interest and discussion generated on a forum will help Pentax to gauge the needs of their customers. It's free market research.
Many of those interested parties would prefer to use Pentax lenses on a Pentax body. I don't see how it is promoting another brand where the principal interest is in the performance of a Pentax lens. Plenty of us spend much more on lenses than on camera bodies, so again surely it is positive for Pentax. I'm a little confused too, there doesn't seem to be an issue with discussing other brands of lenses for use on a Pentax body.
Furthermore it doesn't mean that we will all be going out and buying a Sony, au contraire it gives us more incentive to wait and see what Ricoh have in store. And surely Pentaxians moving to Sony with Pentax lenses is so much better than Pentaxians moving to Nikon with Nikon lenses.
I hope that these images taken with Pentax glass are allowed to stay, I for one am finding them very useful.
