I haven't read any reviews but to be honest from the images I've seen the IQ doesn't cut the mustard for me. The range/WR combination is extremely enticing I'd look at other options for that reason.

On his flickr site he usually explains the set up for each shot. And he has a photo of a typical set up here.

As stacking has been mentioned too in this thread. How about this for stacking and more jaw droppping macro.

I have the 12-24, I find it a very useful range and it's a very good lens. Other ranges I might consider swapping a zoom for primes but here I just wouldn't.

The answer's obvious, you need them both.

I have no experience of either lens but in terms of useful focal length I'd be tempted to go for the greater versatility of the 21mm.

Congratulations on this new technique Jon. I'm amazed how the haze disappears like magic. I'm not keen on the first two shots. For me these shots need absolute realism and the first two could be drawings. The third is a wonderful view and almost there, but doesn't quite look 100% real. The last is an absolute cracker. These are views you just don't see everyday (unless you're you that is) and I really look forward to seeing some more when you have perfected the technique.

I like them all. Excellent compositions and weirdness. The viewpoint in the first is very interesting. Tomb climbing, excellent.

And does it on the cheap to boot, quite remarkable. I've favourited a few of his flickr shots. I can't see any pictures of Marco though.
