Thanks to those who entered. Due to the low entry count I will just pick a winner. To pick a top three would mean awarding a wooden spoon which I want to avoid.

Looking at the full on mural, you have done very well to present these as bright, cheery scenes. I think the vignettes selected are well composed with nicely chosen angles - face on might have looked a bit documentary. The framing emphasises the material. The third one looks slightly soft in comparison with the first two which I think are very strong shots.

RPLSF

Excellent idea and I can see these as posters for a child's bedroom. The jaunty framing is a good way of adding interest. There are some jaggies visible but this could be down to the resizing. I like the green spikey ball, which I think would make a good shot in its own right.

Frogherder

Good, vivid colours. The forced decision to bring these indoors was a good result as the backgrounds selected work very harmoniously with the flowers. I do find the images a little soft and I might have arranged the flowers in the first two either more uniformly to the edge of the frame as in three or more centred so that bits weren't cut off.

Alexfilipov

An unusual subject choice but it works very well. I like the square crops and how you've turned them into stamps. I would have preferred seeing them larger but nevertheless the image quality is evident. Metallic surfaces are never easy but I think you've nailed it here. I would have rotated the second one 90 degrees right to a non-gravity defying position.

Winner: Alexfilipov and the decision as to whether to carry on now rests with you. Thanks to all entrants.

I voted no for all mine too. I want them rejected so I can upload versions which suit the new format.

You can still vote for your own photos though.

It's chock a block with plenty of little bugs too.

The front page is naff. They have taken away the facility to review latest approvals, which was pretty much the only category I browsed.

Plus they deleted one of my shots from the collection.

That's a bad error.

All my pending photos have been deleted and some of the approvals too.

Because I have some photos there. Most people are complaining about how the images look, but I accept it's subjective.

That's a good point. It would have been better to downscale the images always retaining the option to display them at higher resolution. But that would have involved intelligence. I'd be happy to resubmit all my approvals at a proper resolution.

I'm viewing it in Firefox 7. The artists pages link is broken, but main gallery's ok.

It seems images have been upscaled from previous maximum 900 pixels to 2000 odd.

They look complete rubbish.

What an advert for Pentax images. Doh.

Really beautiful shots. Subtle perfection.

Ingenious concept. I've read the scientific small print. It appears that the trade-off with this technology is an inevitable loss of sharpness.
