I originally read it as a main subject that would appear the same in black and white or colour, such as the examples given of a zebra and concrete. However if the zebra is in a field then the clarification of 'one colour' would dismiss it. Arctic zebra would be good.

Depends what you mean by technically. You could say that when we are just dealing with the electromagnetic spectrum then white is a colour and black is the absence of colour but when we are dealing with combinations of pigments then black is a colour and white is the absence of colour. Logically a colour plus another colour = a colour. So both white and black can be colours.

I'm not clear either. Monochrome to me means black and white photography and a one colour image (or shades thereof). So a colour photo of a zebra is two colours?

That is now a damned fine looking camera at the new price. Wait a couple of months and it'll be looking very tasty indeed. Looking forward to seeing what the K300 and K3 look like. Must be almost there. Well done Pentax. Couldn't do without the top LCD though.

The 18-55 WR is a fine kit lens.

Amazon had the price briefly at £700. Can't be far off the mark. It puts it in direct competition with the K5 so the K5 should be being replaced very soon. There could be some very good K5 deals around too.

I noticed that too. Nikon and Canon both have 50mmf1.8 plastic fantastics for £100 odd. I thought this was going to be one of those. It looks like one with added quick shift. It does seem to have rather confused the DA and DA-L nomenclature.

It does seem an expensive budget prime. Pentax seem to be screaming, this lens is £100 better than yours. The FA50mm f1.4 looks a very reasonable price in comparison.

The 12-24 is a lovely lens (clunky AF but I'm not bothered about AF for these focal lengths) but it's now £800 which I think makes the Sigma 10-20 a better option.

Lovely photos Bjorn. I turn off the dark frame subtraction for two or three minute exposures. However I have tried for two hour exposures and dfs is definitely essential. Therefore a film camera is the best option.

Which supplier please Dave?

My spare is an Innov8. I've had it 18 months or so and it now won't hold much of a charge at all so I need something else.
