I go quiet over winter because I don't really get out much taking photos, and perhaps that's the same for others. I've never really posted in anything like the volume that a lot do. I've thought about changing makes, but I bought a Pentax dSLR because I had Pentax film cameras, and I'm weird / loyal (delete as appropriate) like that.

A little late now, but there was an interesting programme about Welsh photographer David Hurn on BBC4 last week. About 40 minutes long, there was an appearance by Don McCullin too. I expect it will be repeated.

Be careful on the very late / early repeats - often they have sign language (person in the bottom right corner) which can be distracting if you're fortunate enough to not require it. Such things usually have "SL" in the listing in the programme guide, but not always.

No, it's just typical of modern attitudes*, or "the evolving language" depending on whether you support the idea that people can just write badly and then say "well, you know what it meant, so it doesn't matter" when they're caught out.

It's even more disappointing that it's clearly a standard response, and someone can't be bothered spell checking it. There would be a bit of an excuse if it was just hurriedly typed out by someone.

Whinge over.

( * I get that not everyone speels or wrotes perfectly, but those people shouldn't be writing official responses from large companies to their customers. IMO of course.)

I've watched a couple of documentaries on BBC4 recently featuring him, one about Palmyra and the devastation done there, and the other where he was revisiting another location he'd photographed previously, this time the north of England. Both were quite interesting, though I think the Palmyra one missed a trick by not showing a more direct comparison between his earlier photos and the later shots of what remains.

Vic, if there had been a "Like" button to press on your post, I would have pressed it!
A "like" button for posts would be a good feature. If someone posts a comment about something I've posted - comment or photo - it's nice to be able to acknowledge it without having to actually say anything, and potentially getting into a never ending spiral of "That's nice" - "Thanks" - "You're welcome" and so on.

I've fiddled a bit more with one of the images, and brightened things up a little. It was still quite a dark day, but perhaps not quite as dark as the earlier images suggested.

Cheers all. I noticed the sky got a lot brighter yesterday afternoon and would have probably been a better day, but have other things on Sundays often. B&W might be a thought, yes.

I took at trip down to the Llangollen railway yesterday, as it looked like quite decent weather when I left home. As it was also the food festival which made parking look a bit busy, I went to Berwyn instead of Llangollen itself.

I was trying to get them a bit brighter, but then it wasn't a particularly bright day, so the darkness of the images does reflect what it was like at the time. I was hoping to get more autumn colours, but again the dull day toned them all down a bit.

As always, any comments or criticism welcomed.
