Seeing this thread https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/topic/our--greenhouse-12193 reminded me of names I no longer see posting, and just wondered what happened to them all?

I don't know, two of the posters were also team members, so Mods here and have vanished leaving John as the sole Mod it seems.
Some went to other forums after a couple of mega rows here, some just stop posting, move on, take up other hobbies, have no time, or are just bored with it here, as is often the fate of forums.

I think a lot of people have also changed brands over the years and with the strict Pentax only rule it makes hanging around a bit pointless.

I'm only "lurking" until my plus subscription runs out as 99.9% of my Pentax gear has gone, still keeping the WG10 I won on here and the RX18 I bought cheap in ASDA quite some time ago. I think I have enough images to enter the competitions but that will not be happening either because my eyesight is getting worse which would lead to problems if I happen to win and therefore have to judge . I have been on ePhotoxine for quite some time now so will just continue posting there. I think they accept all marcs?

Nice to see you Stan. Do pop in occasionally, if only for some pointlessness.

ePHOTOzine is an online magazine that covers all marques, this site is for Pentax users and specialises; Photodo concentrates on lenses.

People move on in various ways, but many keep in touch via other places and methods. A few have become members of ADAPS or some other club that has meetings, some have moved to other specialist sites, Fuji or Olympus mainly, some have given up photography and some have sadly passed on from this world altogether.

As for the other moderators they are around doing various things and we meet up with Ken (gartmore) from time to time.
Best regards, John

What’s the situation with Pentax lenses on other brand camera bodies being discussed on here and photos being shown?
I still have my Q’s but I no longer have a Pentax Dslr as I’ve moved totally over to mirrorless in which I do use a awful lot of Pentax lenses with them as the combination works really well, and I’m sure others do to after listening to other people on other forums, and thus keeping this forum moving in the right direction.

Discussion of Pentax related subjects is welcomed and I'm sure that use of Pentax lenses comes under that. It's a matter of common sense. So, discussing how Pentax lenses can be used and with what seems interesting enough, but using the opportunity to extol the virtues of mirrorless cameras could be better served elsewhere. It isn't a firm line, and only becomes an issue if taken advantage of. If the intent is in the spirit of things it should be fine.

I will now attempt to define the length of a piece of string.....

I am still here. I had a hiatus of about three years at one point.

Sorry to learn of your sight failing Stan. You were a major encouragement to me when I first came here. Look after yourself!

People come and go, especially on photography forums. Forums often feed LBA and LBA often leads to system changing even if only because the grass always seems greener on the other side.

Reading this made me realise I'd been on here for over 9 years.

I've bought and sold quite a bit.
I've contributed on gear BUT less lately as I'm not interested in heavy K1 and its big expensive heavy fast FA lenses.
I've posted about the K3II replacement recently and frankly won't bother again. I'm clearly in a minority caring that there is no current flagship APS-C camera.
I put a few pics on the gallery, mostly of wildlife while walking the dog.

As to time marching on I've had cataract surgery to both eyes and complications for two years. I've battled on taking photos and am finally getting there after a belated YAG Laser capsulotomy to clear my left eye and a lot of drops and gels for dry eyes. I can for example now read this.

My camera works a lot better than I do. I'd like to think that at least it is good for one more quality Pentax DSLR upgrade. A lightweight 400mm zoom would be nice to improve on the excellent 55 - 300 PLM. I reckon min £3,000 to switch systems. Beyond our budget eh wife?

Glad to here you're making progress Bill. I'm not sure that you're the only one who cares about continuing releases, as more choices make Pentax a more attractive option to new users in particular, but maybe we are a patient bunch whose cameras are actually working very well as they are? More lens choice is always good as well, but most bases are now covered and more desirables are on the way.

My next wish will be the 70-200mm f/4 zoom I think.

Say hi to Ken for me please John. Is he still puppy-walking?

I post less than I used to, because I take less photos than i used to, but I am to addicted to give up either photography or this forum for good.
