Blimey chaps, how behind the times are you?
Behind the times? I was playing with a pinhole camera I made with a cardboard box, a sheet of tracing paper, a piece of tin foil, and an acer 300dpi scanner, back when digi cams were 1.8 mp and cost $8000.00
(not a great way to waste time, but laying objects on the scanner was good)
In other words...It's how far ahead of the times can you get?

I wonder if it's still made? I heard they bumped it upto 100 a while back, but the company's probably gone now

there's two advantages and one con.
A) it looks very painterly, and customers feel they're getting something really special. For some that clinches the sale on a studio portrait, as big chains low cost portrait packages don't offer it.
A) by applying a painting brush like texture to an image that's been oversized (eg 24"x36" x200-300dpi)off a pef file...the texture off the canvas hides most jaggies, moir paterns etc...
C)you lose some tonal range (esp fine detial in shadows)
Anywhere that has a large format inkjet service (epsons for eg) can do them. get to a framers and have then stretched onto wood frames. ready for custom frames. I don't know where in uk, but if you're ever in Winterpeg you can try Don's Photo (no relation). I don't buy hardware from them ( they seem to have a long standing policy of hiring morons) but thier pro printing services are good.

I think it's fabulous.
I wonder what it'd look like on velvet or canvas....

I forgot to mention that. (neoprene is a nylon fabric, with a closed cell foam rubber layer...oft used for mouse pads) think wraps like a burritto.

Photoshop (and also elements) can be used if you make your text, or (image logo) select it, then save it as a brush. you can then stamp your images easily.

my site is always a work in progress.
I'm probably not the most proficient, but can share what little i do know.
I hid my web counter by placing a black square over it and have hidden easter eggs in there the same way. it allows me to experiment on different things while not making everything available to everybody.lol.

Set up a scratch disk on your second drive.
close any other programs you don't need running.
