Yes, there is 10MP semi-pro body due for release at Photokina in September along with a couple of f2.8 zooms and a 70mm pancake lens.
Cheers

Do a search on dpreview for "K10D".

There does not seem to be any really reliable info available about the K10D DSLR from Pentax.
Rumours are rife of course. These include:-
But, who knows . . . Pentax certainly aren't giving any clues which I guess adds to the expectations of a large number of Pentax owners.

- K10D will possibly use a proprietory rechargeable battery (bad, bad, bad idea) ? ? ? This could be an anti-rumour propogated by Canikon users
May have a weather resistant body ? ? ?
May be available to resellers for appraisal by end August ? ? ?
May be released to the general public in September (was previously November) ? ? ?
May have a vertical grip like the *istD (I hope its the same as the D) ? ? ?
10 frame buffer @ 3fps ? ? ?
DNG RAW compatibility (option) ? ? ?
May have a street price of only $1000 USD, that's £1000 to ripped-off UK customers and €1000 to the rest of europe ? ? ?

You beat me to the reply Peter, not much more to add really apart from it having two wheels like the D and Shake Reduction.

I wonder if the rumors about the RAW setting including DNG are just wishful thinking? On the other hand, it's just like Pentax to do something completely out of left field. One can only hope.

Yes, and I got about as much information as googling K10D. A photo, some rumors, and the claim of 10 megapixels.anybody try Googling samsung gx2?
Perhaps the Pentax will be the sturdier pro model and the Samsung will be the advanced enthusiast model?

One strong rumour which wasn't mentioned was the possibility that new long lenses will have in-lens focussing.
If so, I think that we can assume that the new body will be fully compatible with existing AF lenses but that it will also function with the new ILF lenses. They, presumably, would have to be used in MF on older bodies.
The rumour is given credibility by the fact that no long DA lenses have been produced so far. They are presumably (if the rumour is true) being held back until there is a body that can use their new focussing system.
An article in BJP, reporting on a meeting with a senior Pentax person, said that the new body would not be a full Pro camera (like the LX), so full sealing sounds unlikely.
However, all reports of meetings with Pentax people suggest that Pentax is pretty pleased with the new body, and expect it to be very well received.

Are there any signs that Pentax are going to bring out a genuinely new camera, as opposed to just releasing slightly different versions of the same 6 mega-pix camera.
Nikon, canon etc are coming out with 8-10 mega-pix cameras while Pentax hasn't issued a real upgrade in a long time (the new K110D is still only 6 mega-pix)
Does anyone know if Pentax are planning a serious upgrade and when it might happen?
Thanks
