Secondly, if somebody gives their honest brutal opinion, the poster will learn nothing if the poster's "friends" slams the critiquer. The same goes for John Riley's excellent insight that gratuitous compliments are meaningless as well. When either of those conditions happens, nothing is gained by the poster looking for an honest critique and trying to learn from it. It is up to the poster to determine what opinions are valid and which are not, not.
I'm just glad that when things do occasionally flare up, it never goes seem to get really ugly around here!

The choice in model is good.
the light is nice.
a little more attention to detials, and background, and this could really turn out nice.
clearly some kind of diffuser or scrim over the model's head in the second shot would fix the highlight in her hair.
I expect harsh words when people critique my stuff.
It comes with calling yourself a "Pro".
those are shots many a non pro would find quite satisfying.
I hope this board doesn't turn into one of "those" boards.....
no offence intened, to the other respected posters, your opinions are valid, and were solicited, but don't you think it's possible that when you swat a mosquito with a sledgehammer, you may bruise yourself in the process?

one of the flanges on the mount, may be slightly bent.
A minor drop, or a little too much force could cause that.
It might not be visible to the naked eye, but even a fraction of a millimeter could explain your problem.

Ever find $20.00(lucky day!), and realize you could buy lunch and feel good for an hour?
Ever find $20.00 and skip the lunch, donating it to someone needy, (or a good cause) (eternally lucky!)? The feel good feeling lasts longer...call me greedy...
ps...wishes to the Missus...heal fast and feel better soon.

even better if pentax allowed me to load a gif, with my logo/copyright stamp into a special folder on the memory card so I can superimpose it for picbridge/direct to printer printing.

If I buy a new piece of equipment, I test it very thoroughly, with every other piece equipment I own (ie new lens or flash with every camera body), using every feature listed in the manual, and any "Other" use I might put it to.
Reason: if somethings gonna fry, I want it to fry, and be returning it within a couple hours. No arguments if it happens immediatly.
Sometimes you find features or uses that aren't listed in the manual...
Glad you got it sorted.

I like helping people.
I don't think we'd need a terrible amount of "controls" as some feel we need.
After all, if one or two individuals post image after image after image, the regulars here are smart enough to know which posters to avoid.
Anybody clicking there would know there's gonna be lotz of images, and therefore slower downloads.
last but not least, references to the image gallery could be used (and linked to) from any other threads, eliminating the need to post images in other threads.
could solve alot of problems, and maintain the level of help available to all.
from those that want straight answers, to specific problems, to those that just like to "throw it out there" and gage the response.
