at the very least, mic the groom...best to mic everybody, or tap into the "House" system if you can.

I know what you mean though...Gerri works fairly close to the wedding party...I try to use my g5 and pro one as i work near the video cams, and keep my video cams far back in the room, with wireless lave mics and rode video mics....
the lavs don't pick up the clicks so much.

My real problem with it is that my wife takes video at the same time, when I edit the movie at home all I can hear is click, click, click AHHH!

Why is our beloved K10D so loud compared to other brands
A compact or evf will be much quieter.
that's why I have Both!
my g5 and Pro one work quiety. Use in good light, and will focus in no light, my slrs work (if you know what you're doing)for everything!

set your diopter so that the af markers [ ] in the center of the viewfinder look razer sharp.
now it's set up right, leave it alone.

What would you do?
use another flash on the hotshoe (manual or auto, not p-ttl).
use your other flashes with slaves.
or buy slaves designed to ignore the preflash.
the on camera flash is for novices, not guys like you an' me.

Doh! He's only painted on, so he won't be around much longer.
What is really funny is the pagans getting upset about it - whilst the Giant is not an ancient figure at all but a joke against Cromwell.
I like the photos though ChrisA - did you have to fight your way through the crowds to take it?

faster focus, less noise, ability to get images in lower light, with faster shutters and less flash ARE exactly why I'd want those lenses.
You have to use what works. There's always trade offs. You can get excellent images with all three lenses. The question is HOW MANY excellent images under HOW MANY different conditions.
I get paid to pull out aces under conditions where others get jokers.....
Having the right equipment to do that costs more.....

You won't outgrow this camera any time soon.
Have fun, and you won't miss having "Live Preview". Most cameras that have that feature have issues with how fast the camera refreshes the lcd screen, and shutter lag...meaning you get to see a live preview of you missing the shot....learn to use the slr viewfinder, and the camera data it displays, and watch how much better your images get!
