Yes I think your right on number 1. I think I isolated the flower from the leaves behind too much and this is why there is too much space.

See what you mean about the distraction from the foreground leaves. I guess the unrolling leaves are a bit of a mess. I woundered if it would work better if it was going bottom left to top right?

The light was nice on no2 and the fern was isolated by the light.

Thanks for the critique.

Hard to decide which one I prefer..... number one I think.
A slightly strange feel to all three. HDR?

I tend to use a collection of CCS lens cases and camera holsters most often. The number and sizes varied as required.
If off for a long walk then they are either in a normal rucksack or attached to the hip belt/ shoulder straps for easy access.
Off for a shorter walk then they attach to the camera holster, by velcro and small metal snaplinks or on a belt.
For moving them around, in and out to the car etc, I have a set of different sizes of very durable and expensive 'Bags for Life' from Tescos. Good camouflage, waterproof, durable and with the lenses all protected in their individual CCS bags, safe.

Well there is one on ebay 'buy it now' for £74.99 but they will be lucky to get anything like that.
If it is in good condition I would snap it up for £25, even though I have one already. Someone here would want it for sure.

Like most here, I find I will use Av most of the time unless I'm using an older lens.

Using Manual does mean you have more to think about but you are in complete control. Course tutors probably like everyone to use manual as It tends to reinforce the technical learning, by putting you in total control your understanding of the technicalities will be greater.

Once you have got the idea of how things are controlled, you can hand over some of the work to the camera but the understanding of what it is doing allows you to concentrate on the non-technical part of making an the image.
