Thanks John. I have managed to upload now.

I think there was something wrong with the image, I eventually tried a different image and it worked ok. Then tried another copy of the original and that loaded ok. Tried the original copy and it failed again. The messages I was getting suggested it was the server/network but the network connection was fine.

Thanks

anyone want to buy my Photo gear
I think I have more chance of producing pictures like these with the camera than a pencil!

Fantastic drawings.

Having looked in their gallery, I think I liked a lot of the before pictures better than the afters!

Having said that, It must be worth a look at the trial. Thanks for the link.

I always used to do the work under the bedclothes, in the darkened room. Just to make sure.

I have a changing bag now, but still darken the room. It is good to practice finding your way around the camera.

How about the 18-55 WR Paul, you can pick them up for very little and from what I've read (not based on experience) similiar IQ to 18-135 if not perhaps slighty better in the corners. I have one I take with me together with my 17-70 when the weather is bad just in case, only used it a couple of times though but the IQ is pretty decent.
I have the 18-55 and the 50-200 WR lenses Simon but I find I'm often wanting the other one! The 18-135 range seems to fit better for me and I don't have to worry about lens changing. Just seems to fit me nicely for a day in the hills, when the weather may not be so pleasant.
If I'm out for a photo day, I would chose differently and probably mainly primes.

I have one of these in good nick that I don't use. It may be cheaper to replace than repair.

PM me if you are interested.

Just Got back from Scotland and have had the 18-135 on the camera most of the time. I have only had it for a couple of weeks, recent price drop finally persuading me.

I have been using the 18-55 and 50-200 wr lenses for mountain trips lately, mainly as I want to be able to take pictures when there is weather. I found my old Super A tended to stay in the rucksack when the weather was inclement. Since changing to the K10 and K5 I found I needed both kit WR lenses to get the range I needed. Changing lenses is often not really possible to get the shot you want, snow, wind, rain, time and frozen fingers being the problems.

I bought the 18-135 for its WR properties, light weight and its range. I have found it is ideal in all these respects. I have the camera in a holster case, attached to my rucksack hip belt, for quick access as I am moving. It needs to be light and I can still use an ice axe without too much trouble. Not got too used to the focus being close to the mount but it is really not a lot of a problem, I guess I will get used to that in time. Also operating the K5 and lens was no problem with gloves on.

The lack of definition in this one is due to the 50MPH spindrift!

All in all I am very happy with the lens. I took more pictures than normal and also in difficult conditions at times. The camera and lens got pelted in wind (50+MPH)driven spindrift whist taking some of the pictures, neither camera or lens missed a beat. WR is not just insurance, It lets you get pictures you would otherwise miss.
