I have a babay and a 3 year old but find that I have to 'step back' a lot when taking pictures indoors. This is my reason to offload it.
I know f/2.8 lens isn't as quick it's quicker than others.
the 50-150 is very tempting but I have to remind myself that I'm selling a 50mm as I have to step back so would have the same issue with the 50-150. Sounds great though...will keep my eye on it.

using a K-X?

Once upon a time I owned a compact Panasonic FZ-28 and was a happy bunny. 1000X zoom, macro, everything bundled into a compact camera.
They maybe I outgrew it or just wanted a new toy. But anyway I sold it and bought a Pentax K-X with kit lens and 55-300 lens.
Now I've realised that ideally I'd have/need €10,000 spare to buy all the lenses I want, or even just to try out.
Some quesions since I've made the jump, that a lot of people probably discover/have:
Why can't all lenses have macro (or near too)....Price.
Why does the nifty fifty lens have apertures of 1.7, 1.8 etc. but 28, 35mm lenses don't (in general)...people love the nifty fifty but it's too long for me.
Why are lenses so expensive? The glass I'm told...
Why don't Pentax have a bigger marketshare, it's harder to get lenses and more expensive....the big 2 rule and always will.
Currently I have:
kit lens (gathering dust). will sell but will get peanuts for it.
Pentax 18-250mm. I like it a lot expect for distrotion
nifty fifty f/1.7 (autofocus)- will sell.
Ideally I'd like:
constant aperture zoom lens- will get one. In dreamland a 18-135 fixed aperture (f/2.8 would be great, cover most bases!)
constant aperture superzoom lens (for sports). BIG bucks
macro lens- will probably get an adaptor or whatever cheap option will do the job.
landscape lens 10mm or similar
I live in Galway on the west coast of Ireland. So there's not that many fellow Pentaxians around or shops that store a wide range of lenses for Pentax cameras.
Sigma 17-70 seems like a great lens (good reach & close up shots) but if it was a constant aperture (f/2. it'd be mucho great).
No real point to my thread, just giving my observations....
Cheers,
Pa.

I'm over with my mum Fri night late, wedding is Saturday afternoon and we're gone Sunday morning. That's why I want somewhere as close as possible- won't have a 1/2 day out and about.
Being honest I'm going looking as much for research as to buy. If I'm very happy with one of them I'll buy it but not if the price is too high. At least I'll have gotten to hold/test them and can then hunt for a good priced one online. I'm very happy to buy 2nd hand as well...
It'll be nice to be able to try as many of them as possible, size, weight etc. My guess at the moment would be the 17-50 or 18-50 (wasn't on my list as I was listing off the top of my head). 24-70 sounds good too...
I have a 50mm f1.7 but find I have to step back a lot so I think one of above lenses would replace it nicely.
Cheers,
Pa.

I'm in London for a wedding, staying in a hotel on Cadogan Place, near Knightsbridge/Sloane Street.
Anyone know of any camera shops nearby that would have constant aperture zoom lens-
Tamron 28-75 f2.8
Sigma 24-60 f2.8
Tamron 17-50 f2.8
Sigma 28-50 f2.8
They don't have these lens in Galway, Ireland instore so I want to try each one to see which I prefer. I have a Pentax but am happy to try the lens that's fit any make...
Cheers,
Pa.

@ rparmar- I'm in Galway so only an hour away...
I'm basing my price on what another one sold for-
https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/topic/fs--pentax-smc-da-l-55-300mm-f4-5-8-ed-17...#comm_185533
I'd be wary of it on offer at £159; seems too cheap...

I had a Panasonic FZ-28 and it's live view/LCD display was good for taking pictures.
I now have a K-X and think the live view is rubbish and never ever use it. It's soooo slow.
Just wondering what other people think and do you use it?
Cheers,
Pa.
