They're all lovely but those 4 in that order for me. Great to get a different perspective from the roof. Not something you see much of, so you have made great use of the chance to see it.
Cracking set.

Cheers Nigel, i had a look at the linked demo, very comprehensive and well presented as ever.
I think it is something i will have to revisit whenever i get a chance to buy some flash units and triggers, i think the best way for me to learn is to actually use them and try different settings and setups.
I will no doubt be back to pester you when i do

It is great that the older gear can still work alongside the newer digital stuff. A bit like us
If the rf 60 has its own inbuilt receiver and just say you were using 2 rf 60s along with a v6 in transmitter mode can you have 1 of the flash units firing at a higher output than the other or would both have the same settings. ? I think If I understand what you were saying about the pentax flash is right that, you could have done that with the way you had your setup if you had wanted. ?
Is there much or any difference between the cactus and yonougo flashes and transmitters ?

(Probably should have started a new thread for this question rather than taking
Your shopkins down a side track )

Cracking shots, and a very nicely detailed how to as well. We'll lit and punchy colourful set.
That lens and extension tube set up is working really well for you.
Does your trigger control the other 2 flash outputs or do you set them independently?

Well I like them all. A change from the norm for you but a cracking set again.

Graham, just wondering about the set up you have to stabilize the camera, and that as you say its a bit jerry rigged, would 2 double super clamps work ? they could be clamped to your chair and to your mono pod, or a single super clamp and a manfrotto magic arm ?
I have a feeling that the 2 double clamps and your mono pod would give a very stable support.

If you can, it might be worth trying to take some shots in the garden if possible, you could try out different settings on a static subject and see if you are getting the results you would like, then when you do get to a place with some wildlife you might have a better idea of what settings to use.
Keep us updated with how you get on and post some sample shots as that will probably help identify if it's a focusing issue or shutter speed or camera movement problem.
Happy shooting
Derek.

Cracking shots Nigel, they really are good, and a complete change from your normal type of shooting, i am a little disappointed that there was no flash used in these though

Happy shooting

Hi Nigel. I don't think it's the lens. Red flowers are really tricky to shoot well. I don't know what causes it but I've noticed it plenty of times in my shots. It's like it's so saturated it just loses all texture and definition and that weird colour thing as well. I'm sure that some of the bright sparks on here will know the reason for it, as I don't.
