Super, you nailed the focus in the first one of these with that shallow dof as well, great lighting setup and ever helpful technique breakdown.
Love the white rose.
Who did you buy the flowers for
Great set.

Good shooting Nigel. Really like the first and last ones, lovely tones and textures captured in less than ideal scenario. The middle one, seems to have lost some texture, I don't know if this is because of flash or not, you can see where the red turns to pink just along the edge of the petals, kind of like it's just blown, having said that I love the center with the deep shadows as the petals get tighter. Red and yellow flowers can be difficult to shoot at the best of times, I think you have done a super job with these considering the setup.

I couldn't get my first idea right in camera and this just came about by experimentation.
Now that is what i love about photography, it can be so fluid in the sense that it can evolve.
Sometimes for the better, (sometimes not )
Lots of my stuff is like that, id have an idea or maybe just a tinkle in the back of my mind somewhere, and what i ended up with wouldn't match with my idea, not always a bad thing

I like it. I get what John says about the base of the stem, a little cloning would keep the nice clean lines. I think I would have liked all the reflection in the shot better than it just stopping.
But great shot

Not sure how I missed this first time around. I too find the real life examples a huge benefit, in understanding the differences. I have always found Nigel to be the go to guy for any flash related questions, and his in depth flash guide invaluable.
Cheers Nigel.

Great set. Nice to see the gear they use is the same as ours, apart from the appliance, that's specialized.
Good shooting

Cayman was quoting none other than Mr ken rockwell. I also have a family member with as aspergers and found his remarks wholly offensive.

I don't think cayman found this funny either, just posting it to point out what a w@n# er ken rockwell is (maybe)

Nice ones Irek. It's a fair depiction of glendalough. It's about 40 mins from me although i have only gone there once to take some shots and then I only had 30 mins. So it was a rush to get to the upper lake. Must sort out some time to get up there properly. Like them all.
Good shooting.

I do like those huts, very colourful and a great angle. I don't think i would have thought of that. Cracker.
