Hey, don't let the rain prevent you from enjoying yourself!

My brother is a very keen walker who swears by walking in the rain. As he says, if you go walking when it rains you rarely encounter anyone and therefore are more likely to be able to enjoy the peace and tranquility of solitude, whereas, when walking in the sun one is forever tripping over other people with their unruly kids, dogs and in-laws etc. You may think he's just anti-social but he has a point! lol

I too can recall a time when I was holiday in Spain when Spain was doing what it does best; turquoise seas, brilliant blue sky and an unrelenting, golden burning sun. Great for sun worshipers but for someone fair skinned like myself it was torture. I remember well looking across the balcony from the sanctuary of shade in the hotel room to the idyllic vista of sand, sea and sun beyond with a prayer on my lips of please, please let it rain then I can go out. That might sound far fetched to some some but I can assure you it's true. Sometimes the rain can be your best friend so go out and enjoy it. Life is too short to wait for the sun!...

By-the-way, cracking set of shots David.

Best wishes everyone and may your God be with you on all your photographic endeavours in 2014.

Peace....

My K3 refuses to recognise the new Firmware update which I have down loaded and copied to a card via a card reader. I have repeated the whole process as described on the Ricoh website several times. Has anyone any suggestions, please?
David
I believe the firmware download is a self extracting .exe file. Have you you extracted the contents of the download or just copied it to your card? I the latter then it won't work....

Updating Procedure

Provide a formatted SD memory card for the update software.
The download file is self-extracting. The following file is extracted.
•Fwdc220b.bin: This is the updated firmware.
Copy the above Firmware file [fwdc220b.bin] to the root directory in the SD card.

Is that 'topic' or 'to-pick' ?

Thank you for your (mostly constructive !) comments. I decided to buy a K-3.
Congratulations BarryE, a sterling choice if I may say, now enjoy it to the full.

Best wishes...
