So far the smallest magabyte card I have seen is 16 MB which came which came (I think) with my Canon G12 compact.

You must have been a late starter - I've got an 8mb Panasonic one

For sale my beloved Pentax K30 body. Selling to recoup some of my outlay on the K3. As far as I can see in almost new condition with no marks whatsoever on the body. Perhaps the slightest of marks on the LCD screen if you try to search really hard with it switched off and get the sun at the right angle but you'd never know as has been protected most of the time. It is just over a year old, bought from SRS and still have receipt. Comes with software, manual, charger all repacked in box with original packing. Also will include two extra 3rd party Li Ion batteries and an AA battery holder. Has 11,788 actuations. Pics taken with it in my gallery and Flickr.

He does usually put things on Leads to Deals which is how I missed it on the forum. I think that's where most people look for things like that. John can be very strict - moving my lead to a potential lead to here

Keep an eye on SRS deals in the next couple of months. Last weekend's deal of £200 PX on the K3 seemed to slip un-noticed on here. I got lucky 1st thing Monday after seeing it after midnight. Too late to post unfortunately.

Really sorry Graham but when I got in another member had asked to buy it at an earlier time than your message so it is now sold. I suspect there will be more cropping up on here. Hope you enjoy the forum,
Dave

An opportunity to share a cost saving with me. Just got my K3 from SRS with the 50mm DA F1.8 offer. I am happy to split the difference with someone who is after one and resell it as new, only opened to take the photos (and of course feast my eyes on this elegant lightweight), for £85 plus £4.10 for 1st Class RM signed for.

Looks fantastic to me David but then I need little convincing! I'm just waiting the moment to pounce and it will be sooner rather than later

Looking at some actual facts from DXOmark we get the following:-

In order of K3 K5iis K5 K30
Landscape Dynamic Range(Evs) 13.4 14.1 14.1 13.0

Sports (Low LightISO) 1216 1208 1162 1129

Portrait colour depth was virtually identical for all models.
Now I don't know how good, how accurate or how meaningful these results are. But to me they look like in the real world you would need some very stressed conditions to see a difference. You would have to decide for yourselves whether the 24mp and other features are worth it for virtually the same spec in the above areas.
It will be easy for me to move up from the K30 for my predominantly wildlife shooting.
Apart from the small improvements in all of the above I will get:-
1. Much quieter shutter
2. Faster burst
3. More cropping ability
4. Greater resolution with no AA filter
5. Faster more accurate AF (Most users say this)
6. Better tracking of moving subjects (Most users say this)
7. IR remote on the back

plus other useful features not on the K30, so easy for me

For 2) BIF the K-3 advantage lessens. As someone who very often shoots at ISO 3200 and 6400 there is no doubt in my mind that the K-3's images are a little noisier compared to the K-5/K-5 IIs.
Jim
Interesting that you often use high ISO for BIF. Being often in the bright sky I find I use my lowest ISO's, smaller apertures and quite fast shutter speeds a lot of the time. I would say that if it isn't bright I find that sky can be one of the worst backgrounds to show up noise though! Reports coming in from birders that tracking is in fact much better which of course will help with these shots.

You can't really justify a K30 and a K50. The specs are so similar it just wouldn't be worth it when the prices equalise.
