I have to agree with Maria. The night time one, for all its bright colour, is a bit 'flat'. Each part is equally sharp and everything cancels out. The daytime one is about the bicycle alone.

There appears to be the most infinitesimal trace of pink in the "black and white" image that gives it even more of a zing! than if it were pure B&W

Lovely shot. So, so colourful and the out-of-focus background gives added context. It's the background that changes it from 'nice' to brilliant.
