It's fairly obvious which way the sunshine was coming from! The undulations in this landscape are wonderfully captured and the cypress tree simply says, "OY! Look at this!" I looked and I liked it.

I'm really pleased that this one was chosen as it 'shines' (or maybe it doesn't!) in so many ways -technical, aesthetic, emotional, composition and more. Great use of a very rare resource!

Yes. I agree with every word. Capturing what you see in clouds is something of a black art - which is why I was impressed with the eclipse image, earlier. What you have here is similarly deep and brooding.

The technicalities have been worthily praised above but there isn't much mention of the eeriness, frightfulness, other-worldliness and so on which this image so amply captures. No wonder such events terrified our ancestors. Super image - on all fronts!

It's almost a horror job for me. What are they all walking towards in single file, and why?
That's not to say it isn't a worthy photo - which it certainly is but you really want to know what is at the other end!

I sat on a balcony in Austria with them zipping about the hanging baskets before my eyes just a month ago. Well done for simply capturing a decent shot of the blighter !
