You could see these regularly on fitted freights clattering along at a great speed. I used to wonder how the four wheeled vans stayed on the track! You've caught the past perfectly here (except the loco is far too clean)

Matt I've noticed this effect in other images. They are quite level but the direction of the ripples can throw your eyes.
It's a most wonderful image and the sort of shot to aspire to.

The composition is lovely but I'm not certain about the extremely busy bokeh effect.
The tranquil evening message is contradicted by the grass stems seemingly darting about in all directions
