Just got carried away a little in the excitement of promotion George.

I also prefer the mono version, but I agree with George it could do with a little more contrast. I'm glad you got rid of that distracting highlight in the black and white version Jackie.
I get better mono results shooting in RAW rather than JPEG.
Your husband looks like he's listening to Beethoven rather and heavy metal.

You had the law on your side when you stood up to this bolshie jobsworth. I was approached by a similar official while photographing a modern building on a Tyneside business park. He said he was under instructions to make sure any pictures taken by photographers were deleted. I told him that in law he couldn't do that and he agreed with me but that's what his boss had told him. We parted on good terms and my pictures remained intact.

I just made it. Passed the magic 100 and now I'm a Pentax Grand Master. still a long way to go to match the marathon efforts of John Riley and co.

At the risk of re-opening the old argument about the merits of Gallery versus Forum I would just like to point out that serious C+C of pictures doesn't have to be confined to the Forum. There is equal scope to make fair and honest criticism in the Gallery too.
I only rarely do bird pictures and never insects as I'm not a macro man but I do admire the best shots of the genre, especially from Beginner. The joy of Pentax User is we can enjoy the efforts of other photographers who have differing interests and styles to our own.

Thank goodness from a photographic standpoint that modern architecture has become much more interesting in the past decade or so compared to the mid 20th century. The concrete blocks of the 1960s are stark and ugly but are still worthy of serious photographic attention. You and your K20 turned this monstrous building into a picture of great interest. And I agree with George, the worn paint on the handrail is the icing on the cake for me.

I'm with those who like the out-of-focus butterfly. It's considered the norm. to have the insect sharp and the flowers out of focus in this type of photo. What's wrong with the other way round. Its a superb picture.

I'll take that pancake zoom lens with a pinch of lemon.
PS: Just two posts to go to the 100. Will I then loose my Venerable status?
