Like these Gareth, very well handled, especially the control over light levels and the lovely bokeh.

I've used my K-3 and K-5iis in direct comparison, in situations where there is very little light, i.e. small rock festival and indoor music gigs. I found very little difference in low light performance and the results from both were roughly comparable, using ISO's up to 6400.

I appreciate what Jon Bowles is saying about aerial photography, where I suspect the files are subjected to much heavier processing, but for uses such as I have described, my experience is that the K-3 is as good in low light as a K-5iis. I haven't noticed any colour smearing or any other unusual artefacts, also the noise produced by the K-3 is different in grain structure (finer) and if anything is easier to deal with in post processing.

You just did mention it Alan and probably drew more attention to it because of the way you did it!!

What a cracking set of images, they are all very good. 'Legs' has to be my favourite, if that one doesn't raise a smile with everyone I don't know what will!

A good idea to post these for all of us non-gallery viewers You've certainly made the most of those conditions weather-wise with plenty of tonal variation and what light there was being highlighted nicely.

Why don't you try and move the Santa hat from the logo and place it onto the birds head ?

Merry Christmas David, and lets hope to see plenty more lake district shots in the year to come .... Might the new full frame camera prove too much a temptation ..... ?
Hi Nigel, thanks for the comments and suggestions! I did think about putting the hat on the Robin's head, but thought it might be a step too far!

Regards the Full Frame, I don't think so at present. It would mean buying a whole load of new lenses to use in anything other than crop factor mode and this would defeat the object somewhat. I'm very happy with both the K-3 and the K-5iis, along with a K-01 I have that tends to be preferred for indoor work, so I don't think I will go for the FF, unless it's a year or two down the line.

Thanks to everyone else for the comments and for looking.
