Shopping with a Pentax

Photography in a huge shopping centre can sometimes lead to difficult encounters with security staff. Not so at Tyneside's Metro Centre. All you have to do is check in at the administrative offices, fill in a form and they give you a pass. Tripods are not a good idea so my K3 and DA*50-135mm lens were hand held throughout. ISO was 1000-1250 for all of these.

That's nice to know David,

"Coffee Culture" is good but "I've found you a red dress" is superb
Cheers
Brian.
LBA is good for you, a Lens a day helps you work, rest and play.

These are great David... Very imaginative... Particularly like "Legs", but they're all very well observed...

I like them all but especially the "H&M" one.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

What a cracking set of images, they are all very good. 'Legs' has to be my favourite, if that one doesn't raise a smile with everyone I don't know what will!

It would be a good idea to e-mail the admin office with results so they can see what 'enthusiast Photographers' actually TAKE in shopping malls-- I bet they think anyone with a camera is stealing 'copyright designs' of shops or taking photos of children.
Been a member of Pentax Club since the Ron Spillman era! Got COMPUTERISED at last - DIGITISED?
Taken the PLUNGE - BUT FILM STILL RULES !!!

Good idea Peter. I've just e-ailed them this set of images, can't imagine what they'll make of them.
Maggs: Sorry I couldn't afford to buy you the red dress, while I was taking these pictures my wife was spending all my dosh in the shops..
Thanks everyone for the supportive comments.

Now David - these really are an excellent set of images.

I'd guess that a lot of thought has gone into the taking stage of these. The choice of viewpoint and the composition is excellent. This is a lesson in how to make very ordinary subjects stand out
