We are staying overnight with friends in Tickhill Neil, so we will be at the venue by 12:00 latest I would think. We'll be there all day until the end.

Regards
David

It is a bit snobby there Tim (apologies to any Tickhill residents) but it's not quite as bad as Bawtry (apologies to any Bawtry residents).

There must be quite a lot of people reading this who haven't got a clue what I'm on about

Cheers
David

Looks like there might could five or six fellow Pentaxians up for this on Sunday, anyone else coming?

Thanks Neil for your confirmation, looking forward to seeing you there, the 'confirmed' and 'possibles' are:

Myself, AndrewA, gtis, JVS, Offertonhatter, fritzthedog and naimkhan

Hope everyone above can come, it should be a good day, weather forecast is reasonable but not scorching.

David

I do agree with Andrew. For wide shots it's a MUST to include some foreground interest and details, otherwise the eye is not lead into and through the shot. The wider the lens, the more important this is. Andrew is a master of such things which is one of the reasons why his shots get so many views in the Gallery. I also try to be conscious of this with every landscape image I take.

Andrew's shot also exhibits a mastery of exposure and even lighting, except for the bit at the very bottom right where it's a bit dark, but it's in the corner and doesn't really matter too much.

+1 from me too, the DA*300 is the best lens I've ever owned and is rarely off my K-3 nowadays.

A few months ago I was asked to be one of the 'official photographers' at the 'Tickhill Grand Prix' which is an exciting professional cycle race event being held around the streets of this quaint South Yorkshire village. As a result of this, I asked AndrewA if he wanted to assist and he too is now one of the official togs on the day.

This will be a great day out, the events go on throughout the afternoon and end with a party and music in the evening. It never occurred to me to make it a 'Pentax meet', but I've had a message from a fellow Pentaxian about this so why not take the opportunity for a get together? So, anyone in striking distance of Tickhill there is an open invitation for you to come along and meet up this Sunday 24th August!

If anyone's interested, either just turn up on the day, or PM me and I will send you my mobile number. See link below for details:

All the best
