Having tried both settings with mixed results and not finding the answer in the camera manual can anyone answer this.
When using continuous focusing for focus tracking of birds. Which is best, to have the camera set to "Centre Focusing" or "Auto Focusing"?
Obviously for centre focus you have the difficult job of keeping the subject in the centre of the viewfinder and you would expect the "Auto focus" mode to be much better as its using all the available focus points. The problem is I am still getting inconsistent results. I know that birds don't fly in a predictable flight path but any suggestions to help nail spot on focus would be gratefully received. I had same problem last week but I was very lucky.
I found when the internet wireless connection was disconnected the PC booted up OK without ransome screen.
I was then able to launch Free Malwarebytes which I hadnt updated for months, silly me, however it soon found some of the triggers to the ransome screen and isolated them. I was then able to connect to internet update Malwarebytes and seek out all the infection. PC almost back to normal but I think Malwarebytes upset some innoccent registry items so I'm still resolving them.

Hi
I have to say I'm still delighted with the 22mm eyecup link
It fits perfectly, clips onto the viewfinder securely, allows easy access to diopter adjuster and at £3.99 delivered what could be better.
Once again thanks for the advice Tom.

Please to hear your eyecup arrived OK.
Maybe we are starting a craze my good lady is thinking about trying one on her K5.
I have seen people using them with and without spectacles and can see why, especially in strong sunlight.

Hi All
My eyecup arrived from China on Saturday, it's just what I wanted and excellent value. I've yet to try it in bright sunlight which is where I was struggling most but I'm sure its got to improve things.
Up to now it enables me to see the camera settings with ease, and improves my ability to lock my eye onto the viewfinder keeping me focused on subject without the distraction from the sides the standard eyecup caused.
Now I don't need to remove my glasses which enables me to see the LCD display with ease. Also it makes access to the diopter adjuster very easy.
Kind regards and thanks to all
David

Hi David, if you are thinking of the type Eye Cup in your link above, have a look at the JJC EP-2 22mm Rubber Eye Cup found them slightly better quality link
I have taken Toms advice and ordered an Eye Cup from;link
It's the last they had in stock so I hope its OK.
It must be coming from China by Elephant, as expected delivery is marked as 02-18 July, this year I hope. It should make things easier as putting my glasses on my head is a no no. There's and expensive pair of sun glasses sitting at the bottom of a river because of that trick. Will update when I have tried it later in the year!!!
Thanks for advice David

How will a round centre work on a rectangular viewer
Hopefully the rubber eyecup comes with an adapter to fit the camera view finder

Hi David, it is slightly larger than the 6-in-1 type Eye Cup and the Rubber is softer.
I only wear glasses for reading but use the JJC Eye Cup all ways on the 600mm.
Quick comparison shot, JJC lower one.

Hi Tom
I see what you mean about the size, I think I will go for one of those £4.00 including postage I dont think I can go wrong.

Hi Tom
This looks ideal if its big enough to limit light leakage around the spectacles, do you use this eyecup and do you wear glasses?

Having just started to wear glasses pemanently I am having difficulty using the viewfinder.
Problems are;
Due to light leakage I cannot read information in viewfinder.
Light leakage causes incorrect metering and exposure.
Light leakage makes subject difficult to see amd focus on.

I have searched this Forum and the internet but cannot find anyone who makes an eyecup for Pentax cameras which are designed for spectacle wearers. I found this non-UK ebay item but am not sure if it's large enough for use with spectacles. http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-in-1-Eyecup-for-Canon-Nikon-Sony-Pentax-Olympus-DSLR-/...
Any suggestions home made or not very welcome.
My camera is a K7
