Am not aware of any extension tubes or "macro" teleconverter that has AF, there are macro focusing teleconverters around with "A", usually on ebay for about £40-£50. These are standard teleconverters with a extension tube added, focusing is difficult on anything other than still life or no life. If you want high magnifications you would probably be better off going down the reversed lens route, but is this actually what you want to do? with this option you will get neither AF or aperture control.

My sigma lens is a digital lens so I cannot control the aperture manually
Not sure what this means, surely you can control the aperture from the camera ?

Would be interested to see a direct comparison between this and the DA 55-300. Anybody aware of one ?

This is totally false, Copywright law aplies to all uses of the material involved, see point 8here.

Looking forward to seeing some good shots. One more thing; Have you considered using cooking oil : You may get less distracting bubbles.

Hi Matt.
You can get some flash triggers here cheap and cheerfull but they are perfect for this sort of thing. I am currently experimenting with water drops and finding getting the background right one of the challenges, am reflecting flash off A4 photo paper onto the subject, gel filters in front of the flash give interesting colours in the water, and setting WB to Tungsten gives a cool overall effect. How are generating the vortex : I like the look of it.

Seems to me that a seller can name any price they want, a buyer can offer any price they want. Other opinions or previous prices have no bearing on the matter. If an item appears over or under priced then that is up to the prospective buyer to decide whether to bid or buy. Ebay is not the arbiter of value; The true value of any item is what any 1 buyer will pay for it.

Nice shot, well composed. Like the framing as well. If I had one criticism it would be to darken the umbrella on the bottom left. Wonder how many shots you took apart from this one
