Pringles tubes and on-board flash is the most convenient way to go. You may need to slide one tube inside the other to allow for different lens lengths.
The 50 1.7 and tubes is an awesome combination only lacking the ability to turn around and shoot the dog if the occasion arises
I rarely go over f11, nothing wrong with a bit of shallow DOF, but the sharp bit MUST be pin-sharp
Oh yes, and get down lowwwww. make like another insect and the drama will improve ten fold.

Ah, well you have the advantage of more pertinent information on your version. In any case, it's always difficult to judge horizons when the light falls unevenly or the far waterline curves down or something. That and the ship cause me to perceive it as leaning.
I've had images that I've nudged the other way (technically incorrect) to redress the 'problem'. I've also noticed that Joe Public doesn't give a toss!
Clearly, from this image's reception, the problem is me! lol.

hmm... I originally just scrolled up to check it against the top of the window; both the waterline and deck of the boat are leaning to the right. I wouldn't have checked if it hadn't troubled me in the first place, so something seemed amiss. Anyway, enough of my pedantic quirks! It's still a splendid shot and I'm starting to regret selling my 55-300

Lovely image, well done... am I allowed to suggest it's wonky?

I used to shoot 50 percent slide film and the k-x shots were posted to illustrate what I expected the 645 to produce. I wasn't disappointed; the Velvia 50 is as rich and vibrant as I hoped and the exposure control of the 645N was perfect
I'm sure that limited dynamic range (especially after it has been scanned) is something I'll have to build into my compositions.

Finally got my first set of slides back from this shoot with the 645N!
Wow! I haven't got a scanner, so this particular test set may stay as slides but I'm really looking forward to giving the 645 some serious work to do. The colour, contrast and exposure control is brilliant. Don't know why I'm surprised; top-end film and camera.
The three strips of film laid out in a pouch like a contact sheet make a lovely image stuck to the window, with 16 vibrant shots to gaze at at once, like stained glass.
I think I'll try grouping related images and orientations, making pretty contact sheets for display and try selling these. The individual slides would make nice little desktop souvenirs - one frame of the film mounted by its corners on a cute little backless frame standing on your office table or on the window sill

Isn't that a jumping spider at his feet on the first one?
Lovely images.

Remember, both the Metz and K5 need the latest firmware before making judgements.

Gary, I wrote that above all the pictures. They are just examples of difficult light. I was hopping the flash would get all upset again, but it was fine; camera and flash working as they should in all scenarios.

The problems I referred to earlier can happen anywhere, like a dark ally (last time). I looked for all the obvious mistakes but could see nothing wrong with the setup at the time. I'll keep an eye out, if it happen again I'll post some examples instead of deleting them and swearing

Oh well, that was predictable. Couldn't get it to do anything wrong!
Still, here are some quick and dirty fill flash examples, with notes on how each was achieved. All but one on PTTL.
Flash turned on, camera left in AV, F4. So couldn't shut down for sky.

Camera on Manual, exposed for the sky, F16, 125th, 100iso

Camera on AV, shut down to F22, ISO 80

Same but flash turned off.

Flash on High Speed Sync, AV mode, F8, 1/800th.

Ignore any slight exposure issues, it wasn't very scientific and EV was -1 as I forgot to move it back after an early shot
