Taking the 645n out for a walk

Invested a lot of time and energy getting to the top of Sheepstor on Dartmoor in time for what I hoped would be a spectacular sunrise. Unfortunately, it stayed behind a bank of cloud until it was ferociously bright and the clouds overhead, which I was hoping would sweep out to the horizon, were non-existant. However, I also took my little K-x up and decided to do some promo shots. I'm so glad I didn't sell that little gem!
Here is a 3-shot pano (on manual, F11 I think) of the fierce sun breaking out over the cloud front.
The dynamic range of that unassuming little camera has blown me away!

Although I envy your 645, I don't envy lugging the tripod around that you must be using for it

The K-x was my second backup for a wedding last weekend (main camera: K5) and typically, it just got used for everything. The 1st backup - K01 was slow and unprofessional in this situation so never got used.
Here's another shot from the morning, this one has stolen the show on Facebook, sunsets and cute animals FTW

Beautiful couple of shots Mark. The only way you could top the second one would be to have them moonwalking....

Well done Mark, really superb shots there. I agree with you 100% about the K-x, what a fabulous little camera it is. It seems to me that people tend to rate it more highly than the K-r. I know I couldn't bear to part with mine.

This K-x is now for sale as, good tho it is, I've bought another K5 so my two bodies are identical (for weddings).
So it really is a luxury now.

Finally got my first set of slides back from this shoot with the 645N!
Wow! I haven't got a scanner, so this particular test set may stay as slides but I'm really looking forward to giving the 645 some serious work to do. The colour, contrast and exposure control is brilliant. Don't know why I'm surprised; top-end film and camera.
The three strips of film laid out in a pouch like a contact sheet make a lovely image stuck to the window, with 16 vibrant shots to gaze at at once, like stained glass.
I think I'll try grouping related images and orientations, making pretty contact sheets for display and try selling these. The individual slides would make nice little desktop souvenirs - one frame of the film mounted by its corners on a cute little backless frame standing on your office table or on the window sill
