Down-sampling a 24MP image to 800px is a big problem for image software. Far from needing less sharpening, it probably needs more to avoid a mushy web image. The app is having to make decisions about which tones to keep and which to bin, averaging out areas and replacing with 1 pixel.
I don't normally use bicubic sharpening on resizing, Preferring to sharpen later, but my first attempt was very soft directly after reducing to 800px, so I decided to give Photoshop a shot at sharpening as it went. Instead of later when it might be too late.

Thanks for uploading the Raw Danny. That was interesting to have a play with.
It does look like an extraordinary lens and body combination
Here's my take on it. Adobe Camera Raw. Slight vignette to darken the edges, no noise reduction, vibrancy up, left warm (chearful )
Photoshop gentle USM n original size. Some local sharpening on the eye.
Reduced to 800px using Bicubic sharpen, which for the web, was not entirely successful as the edges look slightly false, but I've left it for you to scrutinise; I think it would print well with this degree of sharpening.
Anyway, back to work

When I first saw that you were getting one of these, I looked it up and thought, 'what the..' why would you disable a good camera so? but within minutes I was dreaming up scenarios, mostly editorial shots where this could be fun and force you out of you comfort zone.
How does it perform into the sun? I imagine it would benefit from some flare.
I can see myself using this for portrait shots of young people and shots for magazines with copy overlaying the image etc.
I think nature and flowers, although helpful tests, would not be its forte
I'll follow this with interest

I first tried plastic wrap about 20 years ago in photoshop.
Useful then for illustration, but I wouldn't dream if using it on a photo, unless the brief explicitly called for it.

Piece of black card
In fact, two pieces, one inside the other to make a variable hood

Thanks Smeggypants, Yes, clinical was the wrong word. They wanted to look modern, clean, high-tech, even tho' making tubes is a mucky business.
Here are some of their products:
Large Hadron Collider cooling tubes.

Reaction Engine Cooling Tubes - 'make them look small!'. These tiny tubes enabled this revolutionary engine to be developed. I had to re-cut them and polish the ends on a little jig as the magnification makes them look really scruffy! I gave them several ideas.
This is the one they chose:

That looks like a cracking lens. Have Tamron abandoned Pentax then? I would have thought that due to the lack of alternatives, it would be a bigger than usual market

Lol, always
There were about 5 different temperatures of light bouncing around and mixing behind the model to produce a yellowish light so essentially I was looking for a yellowish gel to balance it.
Then tell ACR that everything was yellowish
