Ronnie suggested I get the 35 and 150 and I certainly will if either pops up, but the 55 is turning out to be a really useful and capable lens (and weatherproof) so if I am really stuck for wide angle I'll have to make-do with stitching
The 120 macro is covering the long end admirably atm

I'll say! That was wide open
All through the day it was all about keeping the whites and retaining the shadows and the Zed is the king of exposing to the left
I was wondering about the back of the car. I might actually crop tighter that side and bring the couple over to the left. Loosing a tiny bit is indeed slightly annoying. Not sure I'm prepared to shoot myself tho.
Incidentally, I've been less than enthusiastic up till now about the 645 and high iso, but having just trawled through the church shots taken with the 2 K5s and the 645. It's very clear who the winner is: the Zed's files are a joy to process - almost anything is possible, endless cropping potential and the way even distant subjects are isolated even at f5.6 is priceless.

Your images in the gallery above (I looked at about 25 then came back here), all appear very soft.
The most important hardware is a very good, fast lens and a body capable of going off at 1600 or more without getting too noisy. The K5 range is very capable.
Have two bodies at least, one wide, for the groups, church inside and catching people in doorways etc. and one long for the main shots - DA*55-135 is ideal. If you have an assistant, give them an even longer lens and get them to catch all the tight shots of people kissing and laughing, you won't have time for that as well.
You are often not allowed to use flash, but you'll need to bounce it around and use it on HSS so make sure it's a powerful and dedicated flash.
On the training front, make sure your technique for getting sharp images is good. Make people stop, take your time and use the sweet spot of the lens and crop later (to maximise the wide open lens's chances of being sharp on the eyes etc).
Get a macro, or very fast prime for the details and again, use it wide open if poss, to maximise the dreamyness of the shot and pick out the subject.
Take loads of cards.
I's possible to have a thousand bad pictures, stop and check what you are doing regularly.
Use the program modes to facilitate rushing outside from the dark and being ready quickly.
I could write a book on my own mistakes alone!

Rushing about under pressure to get back for the reception. Had to quickly arrange everything and obscure a Citroen with a couple of yoofs in.
Hand-held the 645z, with the 55mm at 2.8 to maximise any dreamy bokeh.
There was actually some fairly alarming double imaging going on in the busy out of focus areas, like camera shake, but the subjects are pin sharp, so I'm not sure what that was (I can show you if you're interested?). It went away with a bit of lens blur, but I've got better things to do than fanny around with filters.
The road had a load of writing on it so that had to go too.
I'm pretty pleased with it tho. It's uncropped, so it will easily print at A2 and I think they probably will go very big.

Now... on to the church shots...

Also works on av using the AE-lock to set the exposure. And a PTTL cable and flash at arm's length will help with modelling.
David, I was under the impression the camera won't send a signal to a flash or a trigger if the shutter is faster than the sync speed, unless the flash is on HSS ?

I know that I and at least one other person hates it when people reveal stuff on Ebay. Most of us here are savy enough to check for ourselves and we are all hoping to find a bargain listed by someone who doesn't know what it is or has listed it badly so it goes unnoticed.
Basically, unless you are advertising your own listing, I think it's best to keep it to yourself.
I would be interested to hear what others think?

Ah, yes, I often find myself missing stuff with the 300, or running backwards frantically trying to get the subject in focus. I was always so impressed with your shots with the Zoom, I did wonder just how much better it was possible to be. That sounds a bit sycophantic, but it's just an observation. You definitely make that zoom look like a prime
As for the processing, that would explain it a bit. I also, often hit auto just to see what Adobe thinks (you feelin' lucky punk?), but I've noticed it tends to create contrasty images and I either undo it or head for the shadow and highlight sliders to find a bit more detail

Fabulous set Simon, I've got a real soft-spot for head-on, apex shots. That 300 is in good hands. Are you finding it offers much over the 100-300?
Might just be my preference, but I wonder if the shadows are a little black? This seems to be the trend mind you, maybe I should get with the programme lol
