I do the exact opposite to all my machines! I can't bare Vista - it's everything a OS shouldn't be.
Isn't vista about to be discontinued?

Is the 64 bit processing actually supported by enough software to warrant the change? I've lost touch.

I really helpful thing when saving your images is to keep the camera's filename in all future names, so if the file is 'IMGP0359.JPG' then the edited version would be 'IMGP0359-baby-in-pram-800px.jpg'. This way in 2 year's time you can search for the first part of the file name to find the original.
I also never use spaces or unusual characters because they can cause problems with email or web links or CD burning.

That's a beauty!
Quite apart from the composition and the timing and just seeing that shot, you just keep finding the light don't you?

Well... be very careful at least.
the images at the top and bottom of this page were destined for the bin but I thought, 'I wonder...' and sure enough, they look just fine. Customer was pleased - hey hey, result! Not exactly money for old rope, but felt good all the same.

I have a tendency to just discard anything blurred or whatever, but I think I'll just buy a new hard drive and keep everything!... er, then get a slave to wade though them, if I'm stuck for an image

Ha ha, just had a look and you can see the shadow of the 'eroded devon hedge' on google maps.

Now I know exactly where to go to copy your shots...
Te he, I know. it's quite freaky really. Some people don't bother mapping their photos which seems like a wasted opportunity - that's half the fun!
If the photo has been accepted by Google Earth it gets a little star...Sweet

Some of you may be aware of Google's Panoramio - It's a photo library thingy linked to Google Earth where you can pinpoint your precise position when taking the photo. I have been on it for a few months now, it's fun, some people just use it as a portfolio but I try and keep the images relevant to the location. Here's a taster (some of you will have seen it before), my others can be found here

beautiful pastel colours Kris, you love that lens don't you?
I'm not jealous, I'm really not... honest, I'm not, I couldn't be less jealous, do I look jealous? cos I'm not.
And who wants to go to New York anyway, I like it here in my office where I have a nice comfy hollow in my chair from being here for three sodding years solid!
I wanna go somewhere dammit! cry
