Yep, first one for me has a lovely softness to it. Not just the out of focus areas, but the colours too.

My initial impression was it wanted a bit more exposure and/or saturation, but actually I think resisting that temptation adds to the overall 'soft' feel

Lovely

These too, as they come with a spacer to help with the fit

If you could spend a little more and don't mind all manual operation, you can't get more reliable than a K1000.
Personally I would go for KM over the K1000. It doesn't have the cult following that the K1000 does (and is therefore usually much cheaper) and has one or two more "bells and whistles". On all older cameras there is a tendency for the mechanical self-timers to be a bit sticky and this can be the case with the KM too. If you never use it, its not a problem

K.
Seconded

Heck, you can get a KX or even a K2 for less than a k1000!! Has to be the most overrated and overpriced camera in the pentax collection

Yet more prove of the beauty of film!

Mmmm, anybody with an LX care to comment on that?

Seems like over complicating the job to me, but I don't have an LX to check. Certainly EVERY other pentax slr I've done it on does not require removing the lens mount, or any other part for that matter

It's not a big job to replace it yourself really.

Have a look on ebay for some foam of the right looking thickness and you can cut it yourself and have some spare for next time.

Appreciate that wasn't the point of the post....

The Ensinor 24mm f/2.8, kindly received in prompt and safe fashion from Danofmk.
Looking forward to seeing how it compares to the Sigma Super-Wide ii 24mm f/2.8 that is currently in my arsenal...
In other news, I might be making a few de-acquisitions before too long. I've firmly placed my eye on a 3rd-party, natively-mounted lens for my Sony body as well as hoping to scale back on lenses, as there are many I simply don't use (much to the approval of SWMBO)...
It's always done well for me, but I've never really been a pixel peeper. On a pound for pound basis it ought to be a solid performer.

Let us know how you find it. On the 'tests' I did on film it had more saturation than the Miranda 24mm

Thanks for all the interest. Much more than I was expecting!

The Ensinor and the macro have now gone.

Others still available
