If you think I'm going to stand in a car park waving a camera (of any type) around, trying to get attention, you've got another thing coming!

If it helps, I'm 5'10", glasses, beard and a ponytail.. I may not stand out much in a museum environment.
..and I'm 6'2", beard and long hair - let's hope there's not a hippy convention that day or we'll never find anyone.

Was wondering the same thing as I've got a potentially interesting job on Saturday morning...

The park where I work part-time has a derelict Georgian walled garden, and the council has just given the go-ahead for it to be renovated. Has the potential to be a 'Lost Garden of Havering'. So Saturday morning there's to be an initial plant survey, with a specialist moss and lichen recorder present, and you know how I like my macro shots...

Survey's from 9.30-12.00, and it should only take me 45 mins to get to St. Albans max.

May not go to the survey, but just in case.

Fine with me.

I'm going to be off the forum for a couple of days (popping down to Oxford, seeing a band - Eagles of Death Metal, anyone? - and generally mooching about), so no answer doesn't mean I've lost interest.

See you later!

Well I vote for St Albans, as that's where I live
All round Reuben0's for tea and cakes then!

St. Albans is good for me too, although don't know much about it. Just Googled it, nice looking Cathedral (AS would help indoors of course). Are we looking at seeing what's in the town, or somewhere nearby?

Right, gone through my dates, to see when I can and can't make. Changed the ones I can't to red in the list below, and took the liberty of doing so for those that Tim and Tony can't make too.

Feb 3rd
Feb 4th

Feb 10th
Feb 11th
Feb 17th
Feb 18th
Feb 24th
Feb 25th........Focus on Imaging
Mar 3rd
Mar 4th
Mar 10th
Mar 11th
Mar 17th
Mar 18th
Mar 24th
Mar 25th
Mar 31st
Apr 1st
Apr 7th
Apr 8th........My 40th, so no chance..
Apr 14th
Apr 15th

So, by my reckoning, that leaves March 10th, 17th and 31st.

So Will, Peter and Mongoose - any good for you?

Dan

EDIT: Mar 31st no good for Mongoose (remember that when going Mongoose spotting ).

I hope you're still speaking to me, Daniel!
: : Of course I am, don't be daft.

Sorry to hear your move isn't under better circumstances, but I look forward to gull, seal and motorbike shots in the future.

Not sure I've ever sen one of your photos on here actually, so that will be a nice change.

Hope the weather's good for the crossing.

Great idea. Unfortunately I am on the point of leaving England. However, have a good time.

What??? For good? Are you serious, or just clutching at straws to get out of meeting us??

If you don't mind me asking, where are you off to? Sunny Spain? Hope you can keep posting on here wherever you go.

Well, for my sins I'm in Brentwood too - not far from Peter. If I'm not working (I often do at weekends) I'd be happy to come along and see what a rabble we make.

If Michael wants to join in too, I say Vancouver Island!

"What is so inefficient about this is that we acquire all these numbers - for example 10 million megapixels - only to throw away 80-90 percent when we do the compression process," explained Dr Baraniuk.

Where do you get one of those cameras??
