Surely it would help a bit?

This is when the Canonists wish they were Pentaxists - the thing's not got image stabilisation, and I can't imagine a lens where you'd want it more.

Oh I think there's quite a difference between screen and printed copy. Indeed getting the printed copy to match what you see on screen seems to be something of a black art in itself.
That's not what MX Veteran was asking. He said if a JPEG and a TIFF look identical on screen, wouldn't they look identical when printed. Not, would the printed version look the same as the screen version.

Simple answer is yes, a printed jpeg and a printed Tiff would be identical, assuming they are actually identical on screen.

If they're discontinued they must therefore be worthless junk... I give you a tenner for the 77mm.

Let me know if you find anything about it, I would be interested too know
This on the Tamron website. Model number is '52E'.

Introduced 1990, discontinued 1992.

About all I could find. Perhaps more useful for the specification, than Google's attempt at the translation.

I like the way the light's glowing through its legs. Nice shot, clean background and lots of detail.

I think it's one of these (albeit it a slimmer one, this one's full of eggs ).

This one's web is missing the 'stabilamentum', the zig-zag shape through the centre of the web. Peter's shows it nicely.

Not sure how many Argiopes use it, so I could be wrong to say it's bruennichi.

P.S. Apparently they can bite, but it's not harmful. They prefer grasshoppers and crickets. The park I work at has a wildflower meadow where 200 of these were counted alongside one 100m path. The meadow's about 30 acres. Probably several thousand of them dotted about. Surprising we've got any grasshoppers.

The manual's here to download: http://www.instructionsmanuals.com/u2/pdf/flash/Pentax-AF080C-en.pdf

And look out for the Argiope bruennichi with its distinctive vertical stabilamentum on page 25!
