The other half had a pique of madness and allowed me to get a Sigma 500mm f4.5
Has your other half got a sister?

More to the point, where did you actually find a 500mm f/4.5 in a Pentax mount?

And do you now trot about with the K10D + Tamrom 300mm f/2.8 over one shoulder, and the K20D + Sigma 500mm f/4.5 over the other?

I feel a bit of an *rse for not mentioning that these ones here were downsized - sorry
Well that makes me feel a bit better about the camera (i.e. me not having one), as the full size (1920 x 1200) aren't quite as sharp (but still impressive :roll.

But these really give an idea of what the camera's capable of, can't wait to see some of yours when the bird's a little closer, Chirpy.

I've always used this term, and have always understood it - the image is shown at '100%', so no resizing for the web has been done, and the area shown is 'pixel for pixel', if you like.

So if the image is 800 x 500, that's 800 x 500 pixels cropped from the whole 4000 x 2800 (or whatever).

And I too, am very jealous, that's amazing resolution.

Clearly, I did pitch this at the wrong level as I've been inundated with enquiries
Well that's good to know for those of us who still have theirs.

Just got this from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000F31TNY/ref=pe_5301_10151311_pe_ar_t6

Sandisk Extreme III 2Gb for £8.19

Which sounded good, hence the post, but then I realised it's from Amazon Marketplace, not Amazon itself, and postage is £5.00

Don't forget you can use the Hue/Saturation layer to manipulate indivual colours too. So you can desaturate the whole image as described in the tutorial, but then adjust the brightness of the reds, yellows etc to give different effects, in much the same way as the Channel Mixer works. Drag the brightness of the blue and cyan down, and you get contrasty skies for instance.

For those without the Channel Mixer (Elements users like myself) it can be a quick way to work with Black and White.

...and looking again, there's a similar looking mark on another post further along.

Not sure what you mean about cloning out the mark.
On the second complete upright, near the top by the handrail, is a small crescent shaped mark. Looks a bit fuzzy so it may be a small dust fibre on the sensor, the small aperture used would point to this too. However it might just be a mark on the post. The spot on the first post could also be one.

Didn't notice it though until it was pointed out.

Daniel Bridge It is indeed street furniture as they only put markers like these on roads to lure Chelsea tractors to a watery end.
Funny you should say that, there was a dripping Jeep parked up, having been towed out by the Fire Brigade. All the time I was there, I could hear the sploshing of water being scraped out of the seats (presumably the driver had opened the door to get out once she discovered she was stuck - note to anyone who has the misfortune to be in the same position: Climb out the window instead!).

Well judged Mike, and congratualtions Spirit of Will, a fantastic picture.
