I'm hoping someone can put my mind at ease, and that this site isn't 'cliquey' like some others.
Hi Haworth!

I only post here, so can't say whether it's any more or less 'cliquey' than anywhere else. However, it's generally very friendly, the only problems tend to arise when something new happens (and this thread is still the aftermath of that) or when someone new posts a comment that's taken out of context (seems to happen most often in the 'for sale' section, where people tend to be a bit wary, rightly so).

I have to admit to reading some of these posts with alarm. Personally I couldn't care less if someone only posts images in the Gallery/Competition, what does it matter if they don't choose to join in with the forum? And as far as what camera they used? Again, couldn't care less. I think of this as a photography forum/site first and foremost, that is populated by Pentax Users. If the odd pic is taken with some other camera? Oh well, not the end of the world.

If kacsoisti never returns? Well then Darkmunk's got some judging to do next week, and everything carries on as normal. No big deal.

Lighten up everyone, it's only a game.

If you upload and check the box to say it's a submission for the magazine, then the pictures won't appear in the Gallery until the magazine is published, which will be in about 3 months time. This is presumably so that people don't see a pic in the mag and think "oh yeah, that one again..."

Do you have any other lenses that don't suffer from this? If so, I would say it's a problem with the lenses, rather then the camera.

I'm wondering if you got these lenses secondhand, from the same person, who may have taken them apart and reassembled them incorrectly...

Hmmm, so I control the output of the flash with the shutter speed and aperture?
Just the aperture, as the shutter speed isn't going to make a difference to the flash exposure (unless you've got it slow enough to allow ambient light to effect it).

Shouldn't be too hard, I use manual exposure on my Centon flashgun, for macro I find I rarely have to change the aperture.

...and just had a quick look at your website - really like those doll shots even though I found a few of them strangely unsettling. Great work!
That's exactly what I felt! Good work Belle, and welcome to the forum. Nice to see something quite different.

Excellent, well done, especially with the first one. They look as though they could give you a bit of a nip!

I think though that one of your first jobs to do with your new DS is to give its sensor a thorough cleaning, it's a bit grubby by the look of it.

Just downloaded it, then realised it's Mac only at the moment (PC in November).

Looks like fun. Saw your post, and thought "why didn't I see this before I entered the competition this week?", but Mac issue meant it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Thought it was me for a minute, then realised there's a strap on his camera, so it couldn't have been.

Good to have you back Chirpy, and some fantastic detail on these shots.

Love the little fella at the end!

The Pentax UK website has always said 'System KB', and I've always wondered what it stood for, assuming it had something to do with K-mount. Now I know.

Also, the use of 'standard' (as in 'System KB Standard') is a bit misleading, as it refers to prime lenses, including 300mm etc.
