You'd need something like an 11 or 12mm lens to get a fisheye effect on a C-sensor. Very rare used as not many bothered to go wider than 28mm on film!

Well it may be unscientific, but people I speak to tend to see a link between colder-than-recent-average winters and long hot summers. Given we had snow on the ground for the best part of a month in some places (usually goes within two days!) I'm glad I have an aircon unit handy!

"Operation Glowing Hope" sounds like something involving the smell of napalm in the morning...

I would have thought so - I'm guessing macro tubes/bellows were involved, thereby stopping the camera body from holding the aperture open?

My slowest lens is an f5.6, and that's AF so providing the screen doesn't black out it'll be fine, I only need it for composition rather than focussing. My manual lenses are all f4.5 or faster.

It has the bleep, I just turned that off as I found it annoying!

Well, I've ordered one - added a note to say "please send one for a Km" just in case. Will see how I get on with it. A split screen is a lot easier to use than looking for the little green hexagon in the bottom of the viewfinder!

I'm guessing by "blacked out" you mean in DOF preview? The K-m doesn't have that so it won't be a problem - I use the DOF scale on the lens and then the digital preview/histogram to check if I'm taking closeups.

I'd love to own either - no chance though unless I find a rich heiress with a thing about muddy Land Rover-driving photography nuts!

Just to double check before I buy, is this the right part?

It seems a bit odd that they claim it fits every Pentax DSLR - I realise that the viewfinders should all be the same size (as they're all APS-C) but I'm also aware that there have been differences in focussing screens before now - the ones in my MX and SFX would not be interchangeable, for example!

I use a Lowepro Stealth Reporter D100 AW. The good thing about this bag is that you have space for three or four extra lenses (if you use old primes) and you can also strap extra lens cases onto the ends of the bag using the webbing loops. There's a weather cover in the base which seems big enough to cover the bag and anything attached to the ends.

Best bit? It was on special offer at Amazon - £33 rather than £80!
