I find it slows down after you have all the affordable lenses that Pentax made...

Doing pretty well for a collection of K and M series glass worth owning for sane money, I wouldn't mind a 100mm prime at some point and a 28-50mm but I have most of the rest.

I'm slightly puzzled by "It is a crime scene..."

The existence of photos other than their own cannot pose any problem to a case in which all evidence will be considered. If you were trampling through the area then fine, you'd be destroying evidence. But you can't do any harm to forensics just by photographing emergency vehicles! I know for a fact that they accept photographic evidence from witnesses.

As Flossie says, photographs including casualties would be highly tasteless, but a few ambulances and a glimpse of a bent car is hardly in the same league.

Unless you can find a good teleconverter for under £200 I would say to buy a DA 55-300mm (or the older DA 50-200mm) instead, you'll get much better results than you will with the TC and zoom.

You can currently find the 50-200mm for £100 or less brand new on ebay, I have never seen a teleconverter worth owning for less than that and the lens is probably a similar size and weight to a TC.

I'd just buy something like the Pentax-F 35-70mm instead to be honest. It'll be shorter than that combination, a lot cheaper, and covers the same focal lengths. Image quality won't be up to the standard of the 40mm Ltd alone but I'm not sure how the 40mm + TC would compare to the zoom - there might not be much in it!

I just develop to negatives and then use a film scanner to digitise them, it gives me an excuse to play with old cameras and produces decent results.
I really must get around to trying that one day.
All you need is a developing tank, chemicals, and maybe a light-proof bag if you don't have a daylight dev tank or a darkroom. I time the various stages with a standard wristwatch and it works perfectly.

I can only assume that Pentax know they can sell everything they make, otherwise why aren't they doing whatever Canon/Nikon do to push their gear into reviews and comparisons?

If magazines are choosing not to include it then it's up to your Marketing bods to call them and make a nuisance of themselves until comparative reviews include your gear. I do wonder if it's a bit like Bentley - when was the last time you saw an advert for their cars? But they clearly have no trouble selling the ones they make via word of mouth, the motoring media and the fact that people who can afford one tend to know about them.

I can't say I've seen any serious rows or flame wars here.

Used Pentax gear prices seem to rise continually, especially for A series or later lenses. That said I have seen some sanity returning to M series primes with a few 50mm f2s for around the £20 mark and a number of 135mm f3.5s for around £30.

I was thinking the same thing with the A setting - £220 is a bit rich for a completely manual lens. With a fisheye you're not likely to focus much but not having an A setting would put me off buying it.

It's rigid enough, and the centre column can be raised. The problem is that the lower leg ends up resting on the structure that links the ends of your ribs (not a medic, you can probably tell! :lol, which feels a bit weird.
