Any Interest

I have not been around for a while but have been watching in the background. I left because there were too many arguments and they still seem to crop up regularly.

Anyhow, a lot has happened while I have been away including me buying a D700. Sorry but there you go. I was planning on running two systems, however, the D700's perfoemance in low light on a trip to Finland last weekend has convinced me to just use the one system. I have the following kit and would like to gauge if there would be any interest here before offering them for sale. I used my K20D as part exchange for a 70-300mm lens, so this is an option if there is no intetest at a fair price. I know everyone on here tries to get things at the lowest price possible.

Are the batteries pukka Pentax or third party copies

The batteries all have Pentax on the back, the 2 D-L150s come in Pentax boxes, while the others are in Digital Video Camera boxea but still have Pentax D-L190 on the back.

The second hand market has dropped loads for Pentax. Everybody is selling up and buying other brands. I'm afraid your collection is not really worth that much.

I don't think that's particularly true to be honest .. yes people go but others are buying into Pentax .. the K-7 and especially the K-x seemed to have really given the brand a bit of a boost.

Good glass (I hate that saying) will always hold it's value, especially while Pentax are still about (and I don't forsee them going anywhere soon)

Mike doesn't know what he's on about, the Pentax market is depressed.

Pentaxbabe .. you may be better off finding a shop that will take it all in part exchange, get them to price it up at what they value per item and then coming back and adding a few quid to everything.

I would always PX as a last resort .. they normally offer peanuts (it might even be better to give it to Chris at SRS and let him sell it and take his percentage).

You looked at the s/h prices for old primes recently? SRS for example: £89 for an A series 50mm f1.7 (and SRS are fair in their prices), which is only slightly less than (used) AF ones were going for when I bought my K20D last year.

Perhaps I've been too subtle.

I met a colleague yesterday who casually mentioned he was thinking of buying a Prime for his Canon 5D-II (to add to a collection)... a snip at 2 grand apparently... makes the £500-1000 Pentax offerings seem positively reasonable...

Ask him what prime that is and I will guarantee you Pentax don't even currently make one of that focal length and speed.

Personally I think it's criminal that a company like Pentax doesn't make a lens longer than a 300mm f4.
