Ahh, but you can add extra filters to Adblock to block Google Analytics and so on (which I've done).

I was lucky enough to find a trashed lens with all the switch parts, and an otherwise mint lens minus the switch. Combined the two and it takes decent photos, although I don't have any way of testing the PZ functions.

Weirdly I think the lens I'd probably leave on an LX is the one I paid least for - my K 55mm f1.8 which cost me £8.50 on ebay. Optically perfect with just a few paint scuffs, and an absolute cracker of a lens.

I love Adblock. It stops Google from following me around and then selling my data to the highest bidder!

There is but one god, and his name is Land Rover!

Same here. I never have a clue how to photograph groups of people and really don't like asking everyone to stand around, budge in a bit, etc. The scenery doesn't mind if I spend ages fiddling around, then decide I'd like to try it with a polariser, or swap lenses because that rock looks as though it'd be interesting if isolated and it's in the middle of a river so I can't walk closer to it...

If I'm wandering around at a club event and asked to get a few shots for the website I'll take general views of the base camp area and also anyone doing something daft (such as ending up on their backside in the mud during a recovery). I'm always more interested in atmosphere than formal compositions.

Sadly that's quite a common problem with the Power Zoom lenses.

Your best bet (assuming you caught all the bits) is to put a tiny dab of superglue on each end of the cover plate (where the clips were), reassemble it, and hold it for a few minutes until the glue takes. Make sure that the switch still works and that you've included the little copper contact in the push button, it may be a good idea to have a dry run first to check this.

One thing to bear in mind with stitching software (which I use pretty extensively):

You need to use a lens with limited distortion for best results. I use an SMC Pentax 28mm f3.5 prime for landscapes now, and pan across the scene taking multiple shots with the same settings.

Am I odd in that I actually don't want people in my photos?

I'm fed up with carefully lining up a shot only to find that it contains some twonk in a bright orange plastic mac (or their lurid yellow alleged car which they've managed to park smack in the middle of the frame for anyone shooting that landscape)! They don't exactly help my attempts to make the location look remote and wild...

Another flash mob idea:

One or more of you pretend to be Z-list celebrities, the rest find the biggest lenses and flashes they can find and do their best paparazzi impressions!
