Any Information appreciated.

I have a K10D, and would like to try a number of prime manual lens, from my Pentax film SLR, (M42), I already have the Pentax K mount to M42 adaptor. I know I will have to manually compensate for exposure as there will not be any feed back to the camera, as to aperture settings etc.
My concern is, as there will be no connection to any of the contacts on the camera, that normally connect to auto lens, will this cause any damage to the electronics within the camera, as all these circuits will be open.

Many thanks.

On my mobile phone, I can dial a number, if there is an answer, I can speak to the person, and can receive a call, again speak to the person calling.
Is that high tec or what.
Just what will they come up with next.

Take care. Big brother is watching.

Many thanks, Gwyn and Stefan.
For your time and trouble.

I will now have to see what I can do, I was afraid I was going to crash the Pentax site if I did something incorrectly. Not knowing much about computer systems, makes me very anxious, about trying anything new.

All the best.

Many thanks Gwyn.

I have all of my images in photoshop elements 4, don’t know if this will change image size, have only really used it to catalogue images, and its not very good at that, as I regularly get the message (image file missing),
when I try to print images.

Then I shout and swear at it, which the wife says will not do any good, makes me feel a hell of a lot better though.
I have a real love hate relationship with computers and the hate is all from me.

Take care and thanks again.

Many thanks to all, for your information, much appreciated for your time.

I will stick with 800 pixels, but how many mb do I use or what quality camera setting do I use to obtain 800 pixels, looking at a number of my image files, I would say the average size is around 23mb.

Also in a number of the above posts, there is a mention of linking files, what does this mean, and does it have to be done every time you upload files.

Sorry if I am being a bit dim, but its starting to all look a bit complicated for my non computer brain.

As I said in my original post, the words old dog, new tricks, and unable, are appropriate.

Many thanks again.

Help please.

Is there a maximum or minimum, image file size, for uploading to this site. I have searched the site but unable to find any info regarding this. Sorry if the information is on site, and I have not found same. I have found the info, regarding the number of images. Unable to understand the forum search, procedure, so this question may have been asked / posted before.

Having been a member of, Pentax User for some time, I have never uploaded any images to the gallery, or to any other on line site, as I have a rubbish /slow, broadband connection, due to slow telephone exchange in area, not going to get any better any time soon, as exchange is not even on the due list of updates.

So getting, prepared, just in case and trying to learn how to upload images, to on line sites, I know this is as easy as falling off a log for most people, but if you are not computer savvy, it takes time.
Also, I am not the right age to be learning new tricks.

Sorry, a simple question turned into a rambling post.

Many thanks.

Amazing, a few weeks ago “AP” mag, was being torn to shreds on this site, I was in the minority, defending them.
Now all of a sudden, there’s a freebee, I suspect all will be well, for this issue??.
So lets have, three cheers for “AP”.

I would prefer to use my primes more, but being disabled, zooms are a life line, as I can no longer run around to the best position, therefore, the zooms do the job for me. So necessity as apposed to convenience.

Zooms as a disability aid. Purchase Vat free, now there’s a great thought, never get away with it though.

Keep smiling .
