I've also acquired a D300 and, although I can't comment on the flash benefits, I agree with the other points that Brian has made. I'll still use my K10d but I don't think I'll be investing in any further toys for it.

Will the D300 make me a better photographer? Of course not. But I think I'll make more use of it than I have my K10d to date. And it gives me a chance to do a bit of weight training when I use it!!

Superb shots Ali. Like most of the other guys, my favourite is no.2. Fantastic atmosphere.

I stayed at Fortrose for a week last summer but didn't manage to any shots as good as these!

Although I quite like the forum main page, I don't find the new approach to be as intuitive as the old forum. Little things such as spotting the latest thread updates, etc.

I'm not as concerned as others about the 550px issue although I agree that a photography forum should allow something a bit bigger. Perhaps the Gallery will prove to be a better approach - it does load very quickly which is a positive thing.

When I decided to 'add a comment' (rather than 'post a reply') I wasn't logged in. I'm sure the old system used to take you to the login screen if this was the case whereas the new just gave me a message to the effect that I must be logged to add a comment. Not very efficient.

I'm sure we'll all get used to the new system in a short time but I am also a member of the 'if it ain't broke, why fix it' school. Although it obviously has been fixed to maximise the advertising opportunities. C'est la vie.

Thanks for comments guys. It is a crop and the only shot out of about 8 that I managed to get in focus and exposed anywhere near correctly. I was surprised how crisp it looked after the crop.

Took this on a recent holiday to Sorrento but I've no idea what it is. It was happy to pose for the camera for a few seconds.

Seeing the earlier post by 08tiger reminded me that I took this shot a few months ago. Not as sharp as I'd have liked but I was reasonably happy with it.
