Thanks for the comments. It was shot through a fence as the tigers wouldn't go anywhere near the glass fronted area while we were there. I was quite surprised that I could eliminate most of the fence as it was fairly thick (for some reason!!). But it does explain the softness on one side of the face.

Any thoughts on how shots taken through fences can be improved if at all)?

I think you are right, Lilly. Here is a more cropped version, as suggested.

Went to Chester Zoo on Saturday - this was my favourite shot.

Gwyn,

Waterfall pic was taken with my Tamron 28-300 XR DI (so I didn't have to get too close)

Exif data: 1/8 sec at f22, ISO 100, lens at 180mm.

The water was flowing very fast so 1/8 was about right (although I think slightly slower would have been better).

Gwyn,

You were right - I thought I'd fixed the dodgy horizon but I must have uploaded the wrong version. Image now fixed!

Locations are:
Pic 1 - Moray Firth (at Fortrose)
Pic 2 - Moray Firth (at Aoch)
Pic 3 - River Beauly (at Beauly)
Pic 4 - Rogie Falls

They were taken in mid August - we were lucky to have a couple days of decent weather.

Seeing Tyr's post prompted me to post these. Taken on my K10D!

There are no Pentax DSLRs listed on the Jessops web site at the moment and haven't been for at least a couple of weeks. I queried this in the Manchester shop and the response I got was that they didn't list new models (like the K100D) until they were 'in stock'. Doesn't seem to apply to the Canon 400D or Nikon D80 though so I don't know what the story is.
