Agree with DS, definitely do not crop.

An interpretation that comes to my mind, FWIW, is that the closed one is young and 'striving'... and thus contrasts with the more mature open one.

So it needs some space above to 'aspire' to, which I think you've got exactly right.

Very nice indeed - excellent composition, IMO, perhaps do a slightly smaller version that fits on normal sized monitors a bit better.

The only thing I don't like is all the stuff going on with the frame/border. Hate that - to my eye it detracts from the simplicity of the flowers and the strength of the composition.

I was just chuckling at that very post. It's nearly as funny as all the people that don't find it funny. Some of the comments are corkers.

Even pre-coffee, I didn't fall for that one.

I think if you've been used to a K10D, a step back to having only one thumbwheel would be a significant handling irritant.

'Tis true
You mean I don't *have* to take a thousand shots, and pick the one that happens to create the illusion that I can take good pictures?

That's a bit radical...

I wouldn't mind so much if the video mode wasn't 5 clicks away from Av.

They couldn't give us a dedicated video button, so they made video as far away as possible from the most frequently used priority modes of all.

Yes, that makes perfect sense...

Half a pint of beer from the three winners will be accepted as bribery if you want me to tell you how to find George.

That will leave you half a pint up on the deal.

Net, that is - I don't want half of the same pint.

Another K5 question, I have had my K5 for a few days now, does anybody else get annoyed with the locking button on the mode dial.
Yes, me too. Pointless IMO. It's just as easy to leave it in the wrong place as it was before, and it wasn't easy to rotate it accidentally before. Well, I never did anyway.

A sensor stain requires it to be fixed by Pentax or their repair agent.
Of the several dozen pictures I've seen of the sensor stain problem, none looks remotely like this.

No reason for alarm there.
