For reasons I can't fathom I like it but the right edge is clearly not working. Is there anytihing I can do to improve it or just write it off?
The clash is between the sharp left hand end of the shelf, and the blurred vertical at the right hand end.

If you crop it off, there will still be a clash, since the edge of the books will then be too abrupt.

Ideally, the left and right ends would be the same, to provide a frame for the books. In all honesty, I think the lettering isn't quite crisp enough either.

I think this is one of those where the gain from fiddling about isn't worth the effort. I have hundreds in that category...

Yep, that's the fella.

Ok, so it was including the kit lens and some bits and bobs.

Even so, I think he should be pleased with that price. I think it's evidence that now that new K10Ds are, to all intents and purposes, pretty much unavailable, good used ones will fetch a fair bit.

I'm starting to wish I'd picked up a second one when Chris still had them.

------- Update -------

Just sold the K10D for £380.
Just the body? Well done, if so.

Where did you sell it?

I feel that the The Sigma 70mm f/2.8 Macro for £239 is a good price and £100 less than the rrp.
Also the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO Macro for £119 is £80 less than the rrp.
You can forget the RRP.

The 70-300 is available from SRS for £159, and the 70mm macro for £295.

As I say, your prices aren't unreasonable as such, but I suspect that here is the wrong place to expect to realise them - people are just too well-informed here, and if they are about to spend that sort of money, mostly I suspect that they'd rather spend a bit more and get all the warranty and service.

My guess is that you'll be more likely to get the prices you want where people don't know so much.

It's so easy to over-price, and be left with stuff on your hands.
I find, when considering whether to buy something second hand, that even a barely-used item that's still quite new, has to be considerably less than the new price before it attracts my interest.

If the item is still available new, from a dealer nearby (and Chris@SRS is quite easy to get to for me), then the warranty means a lot.

It's really only the items that are unavailable new that I tend to be prepared to really push for.

So although there's nothing actually unreasonable about K2L's prices, I think he'll be lucky to get them from people here - who are generally extremely well informed about where to get new stuff from.

eBay on the other hand, often sees items go for more than the new price. I sold an FAJ 75-300 (originally bought from one J Riley) for more than the new price from SRS, and that scanner I was talking about the other day went for more than the Microglobe new price too.

PS: My SMCP-M 400mm will not be going on ebay for a while.
Goodness, how come you kept that but got rid of the A?
I guess you mean the Sigma-A 400mm?

Sorry, I was having a senior moment. It was McBrian I acquired the Pentax SMC-A 400mm from, so you did well to make any sense at all of my comment (and I hadn't even opened the Rioja by then, which is now empty).

Your Sigma one provided me with some excellent service, and then I found an AF one - so yours went to another forum member who hasn't posted for a while, but certainly seemed pleased with it.

It's nice keeping it all in the family... just a bit tricky sometimes remembering who the family is...

Is the K10 still a worthwhile upgrade to the DS or is it better to save up a little more and get a K20D instead?
The K20D plus the kit 18-55 is already available in the UK for the same price as I paid for the K10D in Jan 2007.

I think in your position I'd hold off a little longer... if you're even contemplating the K20D, you can't be that far off it.

Keep saving, and you probably won't have to accumulate as much more as you think, before either you can resist no longer, or the price comes down a bit more, or both.

I salute Kemal for avoiding mediocrity.

25/31 I do really like though.
