Pentax K10D + lenses + flash + extras _SOLD_

Hi everyone

I am struggling to get along with my K10D and although I have a strong desire for photography and want a great camera I am struggling with aperatures, exposures, shutter speeds, etc... etc...
I much prefer my old *ist DL camera.

What I have:-

Camera:-
Pentax K10D camera with original box and all content (hardly used (approx 3000 shots) bought March this year.

Lenses:-
Pentax 18-55mm DA AL (kit lens)
Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Macro DG (just a few weeks old, invoice date 24/04/200 with box
Sigma 70mm Macro f/2.8 EX DG (just a few weeks old, invoice date 24/04/200 with box

Extras:-
New spare genuine Pentax D-L150 r/charge battery (never used/boxed).
New Pentax AF-360 FGZ (never used but fired once to test/boxed).
New LCD screen protector (not yet fitted).
Remote shutter for Pentax (as new)
Remote IR control for Pentax (cheap but works well).
Magic Lantern Guide Pentax K10D by Peter K Burian (book)


Filters:-
Hoya UV filters for each of above lenses 52mm, 58mm, 62mm (all a few weeks old) plus other Hoya filters (mainly 52mm)

Everything is just a few weeks old and therefore as new condition.
I have spent in excess £1100 on the above items.
Nearly all of the items are in original boxes with warranties etc...
What's it all worth???? £1000 ? £900 ?

If anyone is interested then I will even deliver to within 100 miles of Hereford (very costly to post) for just £20 (150miles for £30).

just a question, if you like the *istDL, why sell the lenses and accessories as well as the body which you aren't getting on with? With the exception of things like the battery, all these will work just as well with your DL as with the K10D.

The K10D will fetch a tidy sum body only atm, or with the kit lens if you don't need it for the DL.

I no longer have the *ist DL.

If you have a strong desire for photography then it's worth spending more than a few weeks to learn how to use your camera, especially after investing so much money.

Even if you do prefer the DL, why sell the lenses? Doesn't make sense. You could get another DL or similar but slightly better model with the same modes.

You can find another one or similar model second-hand.

So you've gone from being very keen to giving up SLR photography altogether? All in the space of a few weeks. Incredible.

I am keen and don't wish to give up on SLR photography but circumstances have suddenly changed.

To be 100% honest I have a bill (unexpected) which arrived a few days ago and it has to be paid and it's a large bill. I do not have the means to pay it (disability) or anything else of real value to sell.
I still have my compact camera for snaps and will re-invest in my new hobby of photography at a later date when my finances are better.
I've even cancelled the p/t photographic college course which I wanted to start in the Autumn (saved £90).
I've cancelled my computer mag subscription.
I am even searching for cheaper broadband.
and more ...

I will still read books from the library and go out with my friend and his D-SLR camera to get more know how and some hands-on, he has a spare camera which I can use (Sony Cybershot).

I should of known that "Struggling with the K10D" would not work, such a stupid excuse. Always best to be 100% on this forum.

I can't go in to details but I have to pay this bill.
I have been scratching my head for a couple of days and just get more depressed. I have sold quite a bit of stuff to help pay for the K10D, the lenses and all the other stuff and now this.
I can't think of any other way around my problem, an overdraft or using a credit card is not an option. It has taken me almost 10 years to almost clear my debts (due to disability) and I am almost credit worthy again, less than a year to go, so I must pay this bill.
This time next year I will not owe the bank or credit cards anything and I can hopefully start again with a clean sheet (so to speak).

Companies will often accept payment in installments from those struggling to pay debts, and not necessarily with interest added. Citizens' Advice or a similar may be able to help by drafting letters, etc.

I have split it all up
I have the Pentax AF-360 FGZ flash on EBay for £124.50
The D-L150 battery for £33.50

The others will be listed soon but I'll also advertise locally.
The K10D + 18-55 is less than 3 months old and available for £345.
The Sigma 70mm f/2.8 Macro for £239 (used once)
The Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO Macro for £119 (used twice)
plus the other bits and pieces

If anyone is interested in the K10D then I'll post free-of-charge.

It's so easy to give things away and I think the prices are a good saving based on little use or not used.

It's so easy to over-price, and be left with stuff on your hands.

I find, when considering whether to buy something second hand, that even a barely-used item that's still quite new, has to be considerably less than the new price before it attracts my interest.

If the item is still available new, from a dealer nearby (and Chris@SRS is quite easy to get to for me), then the warranty means a lot.

It's really only the items that are unavailable new that I tend to be prepared to really push for.

So although there's nothing actually unreasonable about K2L's prices, I think he'll be lucky to get them from people here - who are generally extremely well informed about where to get new stuff from.

eBay on the other hand, often sees items go for more than the new price. I sold an FAJ 75-300 (originally bought from one J Riley) for more than the new price from SRS, and that scanner I was talking about the other day went for more than the Microglobe new price too.

I do realise that, I have been selling on EBay for quite a while now and know that buyers want something for next to nothing.

I feel that the The Sigma 70mm f/2.8 Macro for £239 is a good price and £100 less than the rrp.
Also the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO Macro for £119 is £80 less than the rrp.
I can even provide the invoice dated 24/04/2008 for the above items if needed.

I am watching similar items to see what they fetch before I list mine.
The flash and Genuine Pentax battery are still boxed.
